NOTD - Falling Star

3:38 PM

Hello, all! I'm sorry for the small break I had to take. We had company in town and leading up to that it was major cleaning time. I missed you all! In a couple weeks I will be having to take 2 weeks off again, but I'm looking into getting guest bloggers to cover that time. It's the munchkin's 3rd birthday, and the hubby will be out of town for a month so I'll be handling the cleaning and preparation and company on my own. I don't want to leave you guys high and dry like I did back in May. I didn't like doing that. Anywho...

On to the nails! I haven't seen many posts on Barielle polishes that made me think I needed to have them. That is until I was visiting the Polished Cousins site and saw this post. The polish kept haunting me until I went back to the Polished Cousins site and saw this post. These ladies never fail to make me feel as though I need to have the polish they are showing me. They do such a beautiful job with their swatches and photos and really try to show the polish off as much as they can. They just made it official, I NEEDED Falling Star in my life as soon as possible. However, when out shopping, I haven't seen Barielle polishes in person. Just treatments and base or top coats. I'm not one to purchase a new product online at full cost AND pay for shipping. It makes me so nervous for some reason. So, when they posted their special 40% off for their Facebook fans I knew that was my time to jump on the Barielle bandwagon. Falling Star was mine! I couldn't believe it! I was beyond excited!! I knew it needed to be on my nails ASAP!

Barielle - Falling Star. The Barielle website describes it as "marine blue with gold glitter". I partially agree with this. Yes, it's a STUNNING marine blue creme, but that's not gold glitter you see. It's copper! Yup, definitely copper. Just looking at this picture as I'm typing is making me giddy and smile.

As much as I tried, this was the best glitter shot my camera wanted to take. :o(

This is 2 coats of Falling Star topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite. There was no shrinkage, but after 2 days there was some major chipping happening on the tips of my nails. I will probably top with Gelous next time.

Clean up was surprisingly a breeze. I usually have issues with clean up on blue polishes. The only  issues I did have were on my right hand, I still suck at clean up on that hand. Grrrrrr

Look at the pretty glitter! I adore this polish!

Right hand. Clean up is a mess on this one, but so are my cuticles so we'll just ignore it. Right?

All in all, it's a must have polish. Especially if you're fond of blues. It's so bright and playful and the copper glitter is so unique! I had no formula issues and no problems getting the glitter on. No pulling with the 2nd coat. I was incredibly pleased that it lived up to the hype I had built up in my own head. haha

You can buy Falling Star or other polishes on the Barielle website. They are $8 a piece and BOGO 1/2 off. (I think this is a normal "all the time" promotion.) To keep up on news and new colors you can follow them on their Facebook page

Happy Polishing!!
