NOTD/Review - LEX Cosmetics - Tuilleries (Mardis Gras Wedding)

2:47 PM

A few weeks ago, SneakPeeq had a deal where you'd get a $10 credit after peeqing at 5-10 items. During this deal, they had LEX Cosmetics as one of the brands they were offering. Luckily enough, when you peeqed their polishes they were $10. Perfect if you got the $10 credit! Well, when I went to check out, I noticed a link that said "Click here to get free shipping". Of course, I clicked it. I shared the info on my FB page and got free shipping on top of a free bottle of polish! Nothing much better than free polish huh?

I had never heard of LEX Cosmetics before that day. It was free polish, I didn't care. I did my mani, still didn't go to their page and research them. I wanted to be able to review the product freely without knowing anything. So, first off... here is the polish I picked out...

LEX Cosmetics - Tuilleries

Tuilleries is a pale pink sheer base with silver and red glass fleck glitter and scattered with orange silver and purple medium sized metallic hex glitter.

When I went to their website to see what the company was about, I was surprised. In a good way! I found out that LEX Cosmetics prides themselves of making polishes that their customers want. You send in a picture of inspiration and a description or story. Then you go and vote on who's polish should be made for mass production. In the end, a portion of each purchase is donated to a charity. Each polish is associated with a different charity. I love that!

*I'm not sure what to call this polish. On SneakPeeq, they called it Mardis Gras Wedding. When I received the bottle the bottom has a sticker that says Tuilleries and on the website it's spelled Tuileries. PICK ONE PLEASE!!!!*

On that note, here is the story behind Tuileries. "First, tulips are one of the first signs that spring is really, truly, finally here! Second, they always remind me of my mother..... I would love to have a color that can represent her in every way: in beauty, in color, in her favorite things, and in her uniqueness. My color would be light pinkish-red with glass-like flecks of silver, red, pink, and orange within it to showcase the depth of both tulips and my mother." Sweet story!

I used 2 coats of Tuilleries over a simple clear base coat, so basically on a naked nail. Still some VNL but not terribly visible. The formula on this polish is beautiful. In the bottle, a lot of the glitter tends to hang out at the bottom, not all of it, just some. Once that brush leaves the bottle, though, no issues, no fishing for glitter, no pulling, no glitter poking out in weird places, so extremely smooth! I topped Tuilleries off with 1 coat of Seche Vite and there was no shrinkage.

It's so incredibly soft and feminine. Absolutely lovely!!

See all the different glitters?

How cute is the handle on the polish?!

RIGHT HAND! :o)

All in all I thought this was a lovely polish. Clean up was a little rough, but well worth it. It's a nice change for a nude, if you just want something soft but flirty for the day.

If you're not a member on SneakPeeq yet, just click this link (my invite to you) and connect it to your Facebook account. Once in, you should be able to go to the gold badge on the upper left hand side and get a free item!

What are your thoughts? Do you have any of the LEX Cosmetics polishes yet?

Happy Polishing!!
