Shimmer Polish Jennifer

Today is the start of Shimmer Polish Week here at Naked Without Polish. I was recently sent five beauties from them and I knew I had to do something special. So, make sure you read the whole post because there's something special at the end for all of my readers!!

I couldn't decide the order to show you all so I let my daughter, Maggie, pick for me!

First up is Jennifer!

Shimmer Polish - Jennifer

Jennifer is a clear base filled with light blue and periwinkle micro glitter, tan, black and medium orange hexes.

This is three coats of Jennifer with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.

Jennifer is absolutely beautiful!! I'm a sucker for blue and browns together and this combination was perfection!! The glitters I referred to as orange aren't a pure orange. They more remind me of a soft orange tinted brown leather. If that makes sense. Oddly specific, I know, but that's what I think of when I see that color. Application was decent, but it seemed to have gotten thick while I was painting my nails. Just that short period of time. Nothing a little thinner won't fix. :o)

After seeing how it did on it's own, I tossed it over 5 undies to see what colors complimented it best.

This is one coat of Jennifer over two coats of Cult Nails - Nevermore. Nevermore is a glossy black creme that is practically a one coater. I know there's black glitter in Jennifer, but I really wanted to see how this went over a black. With the exception of not being able to see any black glitter, this pairing was stunning! Definitely tossing Jennifer over black again!

This is one coat of Jennifer over two coats of OPI - Casino Royale. Casino Royale is a rich berry creme. I really ended up liking this combination. The blue and tan show up beautifully against the berry colored backdrop. I accidentally got a little more of Jennifer than I wanted on this nail I wanted to be able to see each speck perfectly, but in the end, I was still very happy with this pairing.

This is one coat of Jennifer over two coats of Cult Nails - Nakizzle's Shizzle. Nakizzle's Shizzle is a light blue creme. I had to put Jennifer over a blue. I didn't want anything that would over power Jennifer, but I didn't want it to be a completely dull blue either. Well, it just so happened that the blue glitter in Jennifer were the same color as Nakizzle's Shizzle. I thought I did a good thing and it just fell flat. I'm determined to find a good blue to go with it though!

This is one coat of Jennifer over two coats of L'Oreal - So Chic! So Chic! Is a thin pale nude filled with a silver shimmer. I wanted a nude to put Jennifer over, but not a bland boring nude. I grabbed So Chic! cause it had a little something extra to offer. Really, I loved this pairing!! If I had to put it over a nude, this would be perfection!! I might do a full mani with this at some point.

This is one coat of Jennifer over two coats of Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure - I Pink I Can. I Pink I Can is a lovely carnation pink creme. I wanted to like this pairing, but the pink was too pale. Jennifer does better over darker shades for sure.

I decided that Jennifer over Casino Royale was my favorite pairing. I had to do a full manicure with this pairing.

Just as before, this is one (thicker) coat of Jennifer over two coats of OPI Casino Royale with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.

I just love how the blue and earth tones look on the deep berry.

Shimmer Polish makes such a lovely glitter polish. They don't get as thirsty as a lot of other glitters do so you don't have to use layer upon layer of top coat to make sure it stays smooth. If you're looking for a beautiful glitter polish that can easily be worn on it's own or as a top coat, Shimmer Polish is a must! Jennifer is lovely, but there are so many polishes to choose from on their ETSY shop. They are $12 a bottle and well worth it!
