Hello to all my lovelies!!! How I missed you all so! I'm sorry I took the month off, but anything and seemed to go wrong at home and when we finally got over the humps it was family vacation time. I really needed the time to regroup emotionally. I'm back now, and I have some catching up to do! So let's get started...
I've got a few polishes from the new collection from one of my favorite indies to show you all today. LynBDesigns released her Gem Show collection today and it's a beauty! The collection is inspired by beautiful, and in some cases not so popular, gems. Jenna, the lady behind LynBDesigns, has always had a interest in gems. You can really see her inspiration shine through in her creations. I have 6 of them to show you. Three holos and three glitters. Each one is more beautiful than the next. I'm really blown away by these.
We will start with the holos...
Tsavorite, the stone, in the words of Jenna, "is the rarest of garnets and is a bright green".
Tsavorite, the polish, is a beautiful green linear holo jelly.
This is three coats of Tsavorite with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Tsavorite was spot on in every way. I only wish the actual stone had the beautiful holo in it! The color is gorgeous, application was perfection and dry time wasn't too shabby either.
Blue Moonstone, the stone, in the words of Jenna "is not a stone one would facet, but make a cabochon out of it and you've struck gold. It gives off this stunning blue sheen that seems to follow you around whenever you look at it.".
Blue Moonstone, the polish, is a beautiful snow white sheer holo with a blue iridescent sheen at some angles.
This is three coats of Blue Moonstone with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
You could tell Jenna really took the blue moonstone inspiration to heart. The blue iridescent just follows your eye as the light catches it. It's almost haunting. The formula is nice and thin, perfect for layering. So, keep an eye open for another post with this layered over some undies. Application was so smooth it really didn't need to be cleaned up.
Alexandrite, the stone, in the words of Jenna "it holds a special spot in my heart and will be my engagement ring, if I ever get married." I have been trying to figure out exactly how to describe this stone. It's really quite a mystery.
Alexandrite, the polish, "is a copper base that shifts to green, blue, purple, and even a little pink. For a touch of extra sparkle I added some blue to green shifting glitter."
This is three coats of Alexandrite with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Jenna really captured the mystery of alexandrite in this polish. It has probably skyrocketed to one of my top 5 favorite polishes. It is absolutely radiant and just glows. I don't think there is a single thing that would make this more beautiful. Everything about it is perfect. I am going to leave it at that.
Watermelon Tourmaline, the stone, in Jenna's words "is the perfect combination of pink, white and green."
Watermelon Tourmaline, the polish, "is a watermelon colored shimmery base with small green dots, white hexes and some iridescent glitters."
This is three coats of Watermelon Tourmaline with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Watermelon Tourmaline perfectly represents the stone (and watermelon the fruit). It's beautiful, feminine and flirty. I love the layering and you can still see every piece of glitter from each coat. No fishing for glitter either. They seem to be attracted to the brush every time it dips into the bottle. Little clean up was needed.
Ametrine, the stone, in the words of Jenna, "is a cross between amethyst and citrine and in a stone is the perfect combination of purple and yellow."
Ametrine, the polish, "is a purple jelly base with tons of gold, yellow and purple glitters including large purple holo dots."
This is three coats of Ametrine with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Ametrine is absolutely gorgeous! I am usually iffy about the larger glitters, but they really made this beauty what it is. You can really see Jenna's inspiration come through in the final product. It pained me to have to take this one off. I could probably wear this polish for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. Application was almost as perfect as the polish is. No glitter issues and easy clean up.
Serpentine, the stone, in Jenna's words, "is an interesting mineral. It comes in several drab colors and can produce asbestos in some instances. So, overall not a great mineral."
Serpentine, the polish, "is a muted soft green crelly with various green and blue glitters mixed in."
This is three coats of Serpentine with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Serpentine might not be the greatest of minerals, but it's a beautiful polish. Who doesn't love a good muted, not-so-mint green? This beauty is opaque in three coats.
