I went out this weekend to do some grocery shopping and to hunt down some items for some swaps I was doing. My husband decided to have some father daughter time so I could have some mommy time while I did all this. You have no idea how much I needed this little bit of time to myself! I ended up finding most of what I wanted for my swaps. I was so excited! I even found a small amount for myself. I got home and I had a huge bag of goodies from Andrea at Finger Painting Fingers! I will post pics of my mini haul and nail mail next.
Oh, how I've missed you guys! I enjoyed revamping my page, but I've missed painting my nails and sharing with you all. It's silly how, once you get into the swing of things with a beauty blog, the stupidest little cut can kinda put you out of commission for a bit. At least is was only 3 days! I had to wait for the cut to heal so I could use remover without putting myself through a lot of pain. I knew I had to do something fun for my first post back. I asked my husband what color I should do, he said violet, but unfortunately I don't have any violet polishes. :o( Everything is either really light and lavender or super dark. I guess I need to focus on some in between shades of purple. Anyway, on my hunt for a purple that could be called violet I came across some pinks. More specifically, Max Makeup Cherimoya Matte.n.a Fairytale. It's a silvery bubble gum matte pink. I LOVE it! But then, I love the 16 Matte.n.a polishes I have and I need to find out how I can get the other 16.
I recently got a nasty cut on my finger while chopping onions. I'm sorry it put my posts out of commission for a few days, but I got a chance to revamp some things. Yesterday, I decided I had had enough and Maggie and I really needed to mani/pedis. Instead of diving straight into smothering my hand in acetone, I tested things by taking off Maggie's polish. No issues!! I was so happy! After that, I couldn't wait to get her in bed so I could finally chance my nail color. 3 days of the same colors was driving me batty! I told Maggie to go pick a color and she came back with this...
So, we had fun plans this weekend to get out and drive up to Gettysburg and explore (the outlet mall). haha Then it decided to rain all weekend. There goes that plan. Even better, we had fun pajama days and watched movies, had dance parties and the best part of the whole weekend... laundry!! :o) To brighten my rainy days, I got some nail mail!! Nothing huge, but I'm still very excited about them!!
So many people have been doing neon manis. It's been rainy and gloomy in these parts lately, so I figured I would grab the few I had and do one as well. The only neon polishes I have are matte, and I just got my first matte top coats. So I was also excited to finally be able to use the polishes as they were meant to be used... matte... not glossy! My nails look like highlighters right now. I feel like I'm back in high school Yes, I used to paint my nails with highlighters when I got bored in class sometimes... who didn't?!
Below are the colors I used. I did 2 coats of each, except for the yellow (Kiddie Flick) I did 3 coats of that to make sure it was nice and opaque. They all went on very streaky, but dried beautifully and quickly! I also did 1 coat of Essie's Matte About You, which I am now extremely fond of. Now, I can't wait to try it on a non-matte polish and see how it works.
In my nail mail post yesterday, I showed you all a beauty I got from Finger Painting Fingers by Hard Candy called Beetle. This polish is absolutely stunning in the bottle. It took me forever to get my post up yesterday because I kept staring at the bottle. This is what kept distracting me...
I've received some good nail mail the past couple days! I got an email last week saying I still had credit on Copious. If you haven't been, it's pretty decent. When you sign up, you are given a $10 credit. So you can get some items for "free". I have to put it in quotes because technically they have to charge at least a penny for each purchase. They have just about anything other than groceries on there. Check it out! I've made 3 purchases from there so far and have gotten my items very quickly. I was eyeing a couple Sinful Colors polishes on there but by the time I went to check out, they were already sold. The next thing that caught my eye was this Milani. I hadn't tried any of their products yet and this one I saw was actually a lot of 2. So, why not! I can try one then I'll put one aside for a giveaway or a swap later on. So, here's my mini nail mail from Copious.
Last night I REALLY wanted to try my first tape mani. I failed miserably and will be trying that again at a later date. Then, I thought I would attempt a sponge mani. Once again, I failed miserably. At that point, I decided to try something different. After my dark Grimm inspired mani, I wanted something bright and cheerful. I had 3 bright colors and a sparkly top coat from my previous failed manis that I knew I needed to use.
Today, when Maggie went down for her nap, I took the opportunity to catch up on last week's episode of Grimm and do my nails. I'm really loving this show and the darkness in it, when normally I have a special place in my heart for teen shows (don't ask me why, I do not know). After my bright orange mani yesterday, I decided to go the opposite direction... dark and mysterious. Not a great mani, my cuticles are now dyed red. Clean up was a B!*&@! And still didn't get everything. I'm definitely investing in a clean up brush this weekend!
I finally had time to do a new mani today! I'm working on my time management in doing all my everyday things with Maggie, couponing, blogging and actually be able to do my manis. In a perfect world I'd change it everyday (not to match my outfits, just to do it), but let's face it... this world is far from perfect! :o) I'm settling for every other day at the moment. I wanted something fun and vibrant today. I wanted something pink so badly, but then I reached for orange! I love it so much! It's so simple (it got messy towards the end because Maggie woke up and wanted food), but pretty. I think that's the theme of most of my manis. So, here we go!!
The Friday before Easter, I finally got my email from Birchbox letting me know it was my turn to sign up. I was sooooo excited! So excited in fact that I just forwarded the email to my husband cause I was too excited to fully explain to him exactly what it was and go through the whole shebang. He got sent away for the majority of the weekend for work (which is why I missed the Cult Nails sale), but he surprised me and signed me up for Birchbox before he left. He's so good to me! Well, yesterday, I got my April box! I was a lot excited and only slightly disappointed. Watch my video, you'll understand why. :o) I'll post links to the full sized products of what I got after the video. Hope you guys enjoy!!

My Wocka Wocka inspired mani was so bad I couldn't wait to get it off my fingers. I never got a chance to touch my nails over the weekend so I had to change it late last night. Everyone kept saying "blue mani", so that's what I did. I'm so happy with this mani! It's not as pretty as the Purple Rain/White Veil mani I did, but it's pretty (except for my clean up job which I had no idea about until I was resizing pictures - so please excuse that). Now, because I did this mani so late at night, I wasn't able to take pictures due to the lack of places to take pictures in good lighting when there is no sun. There will be no step-by-step pictures this time, but there won't be a lack of photos!
I just came across a new blog, Vintage Musings of a Modern Pinup. Her page is just lovely! I hate that I didn't come across it sooner. I'm so glad I came across it when I did, she's having an AMAZING giveaway!! I'm speechless at all the gorgeous prizes she has! There are so many, I really can't even name them all. She is celebrating 3000 followers and giving away 2 different prizes. One to her pinup followers and one to her polish followers. This was an awesome thing to come across this Monday morning. Too many pictures, so I'll just share her "Thank you" photo and let you check out the goodness on your own!

I have just recently realized that there is a Sally's Beauty Supply practically next door to my Ulta. I think I might have been blind or something. So, when I found out they were having a B2G1 Free sale, of course I had to go! The main things on my list were: a bottle of Gelous, a new bottle of Seche Vite, and a matte top coat. Want to take a guess on what I walked out with? Come on... I know you want to... That's right, I walked in for 3 items and I walked out with 12 (The 2 not shown are a bottle of nail polish remover and a package of nail wheels). Here comes the eye candy!!

I will start off by saying, I'm not proud of this mani, but I'm going to share it with you anyway.
The inspiration behind this mani is from my daughter, Maggie.
The inspiration behind this mani is from my daughter, Maggie.
Since Maggie got her Easter basket, she's practically been begging me to use the Peeps polish on her. So, this morning while relaxing with Toy Story, for the umpteenth time, I broke them out! Such cute tiny little bottles and the colors are so fun and vibrant! And when they dry, they smell delicious!!! The one downside is that on tiny toes, when they are so close together and you can't separate them much, the smells blend together so you can't smell each one on it's own. I did the usual 1 coat on her toes and was impressed with the coverage. The yellow was a little blotchy, but the color is pretty. My favorite is the green, it's so shiny!! One of the pinks got messed up pretty quickly, she really doesn't know how to sit still. haha I really ended up liking these a lot the formula wasn't awful, the colors were bright and cheerful and even ended up having more shimmer than I was expecting when they dried, and for baby toes, they all had full coverage in 1 coat other than the yellow. I'm thinking I'll be trying them at some point myself! Will definitely keep you posted!
So, I decided to have a little bit of fun with my make up today. Since I loved the Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow in Not Just Nudes so much, I went and got 3 more! I hadn't been able to try them yet, because they were a little intimidating. They are all so pretty, but not really colors I would normally wear and I got them to get me out of the norm. I decided to jump in and go for it today. I decided to use the Eternal Summer colors. Not my normal cup of tea, but they definitely are now!! (The picture of the shadows will be down below. I'll post my video, then all the products I showed in the video.)
Good morning, lovelies!! Thank you all for an amazing day yesterday! I was overwhelmed with all the support I teared up a little last night. You guys are awesome!
Since I had such an amazing day, I decided I needed an amazing mani to go along with it. My only problem was I had no idea what to do! My daughter decided to stay up 2 hours past her bedtime so the last thing I want to do at 10 o'clock at night is stare at an enormous amount of nail polish to figure out what I want to do. I picked up so many beautiful polishes over the weekend that I decided to just pick from that pile! There were 2 polishes that were no brainers. I've been eyeing one for a little bit and the other I just couldn't get out of my head since I bought it, Rimmel London's Purple Rain and Sally Hansen's White Veil, both brands I haven't gotten to try yet either so it's a win/win for me! I was looking at the bottles trying to decide what direction I was going to go and I decided I needed a third color, for good measure. I opted for yet another brand I haven't been able to try yet, essence Color & Go's Nude It!. I don't know what told me that this would work, but it did and I love it!! Here are the colors I used...

I can't thank you all enough! You did it! You helped me reach my goal on Facebook for 100 "Likes"! So, now, I get to have a giveaway! My first one and I couldn't be more excited! So, here is what the winner will get!
I've decided that when my Facebook page gets 100 "Likes" that I'll have a giveaway! It's looking like I'm at 57 right now! So, let's get it to 100 and I'll make the giveaway live!
Everything is all out of whack after having company over and everything, so I know I'm a couple days late in doing this, but I'm getting back into the swing of things. So, let's jump right in!!
I don't know about you all, but I found some AWESOME deals over the weekend. Had a couple shopping trips with my mom and a couple with my husband during a long overdue date night. I had to share my findings!!
The first night my mom was here, we had to do some grocery shopping so we headed for Wegmans. I'm on the hunt for 2 full Wet n Wild Bejeweled Collections. One for me and one for the lovely Jessica at Beauty Gnome. (If you don't follow her yet, you should!) I know they are very hard to find. We did our grocery shopping so I decided to cut through the cosmetic aisle on our way to check out. And there they were... 4 sparkly little ladies just sitting there. 2 bottles of The Crown is Mine and 2 bottles of Born into Privilege. I grabbed them and slightly squealed with delight! 2 is a good start when there will only be 3 left to hunt down!

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! I had family in town so, between cleaning and getting ready for them and having them in town, I'm sorry for being MIA for so long. But I have the material for several posts, plus I owe you a Monday Giveaway Rundown post!
Ever since we found out we were having a girl, we asked everyone to never call Maggie "princess" or to try not to use it around her unless referring to a specific princess. So, I was kind of shocked when, earlier last week, Maggie said she wanted to dress like a princess that day. Thankfully she ended up in tights, a leotard, ballet shoes, 2 tutus and a crown. But then Saturday, she told me she wanted princess toes. So, of course, we had to go sparkly! LOTS AND LOTS OF SPARKLE! I was lucky enough to pick up several lovely polishes over the weekend and had picked up the perfect one for a princess pedi fit for my Maggie. The lucky winner for Maggie this week was...

Good evening, ladies! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week and looking forward to Friday and the weekend as much as I am! Sorry I haven't done much, I'm just mostly cleaning this week since my family decided to make a last minute trip up for the weekend. Very excited to see them! Anyway, I didn't get to play with my nails like I would have liked this week, but when I woke up this morning 1 nail was completely bare. I have no idea how it happend! Couldn't have that! So as soon as Maggie went down for her nap, I did a little cleaning then I opted for a quick nude mani. I know, shocking! Why would someone do nude right before Easter when you can have fun with pastel colors?! Yes, well, I have a feeling when my mom gets here she's going to want to go to the nail salon to get mani/pedis! It's been a while since I've had a professional one so I'm excited. Yes, I do bring my own colors and my mom is bringing up her last 2 Julep Maven boxes so I may just be borrowing hers!! We shall see! Back to my mani today... it's just to hold me over. I just needed something quick and simple and I didn't want to sit and rack my brain for 30 minutes trying to decide on a color. haha This is my go to nude now and I am in heaven!!

My first award!
Good evening, ladies! I was really very shocked to find out I was nominated for the Versatile Award just 2 weeks after starting. I've been loving every minute of it and am very honored that Brooke at I'm All Polished Off! nominated me. Thank you so very much! I started following her on Facebook then on her blog. Been loving every minute of it! She's fun, so if you don't already follow her, you should! So... here we go... onto my nominations...
Hello again, ladies!! I didn't get around to being able to post about my hauls over the weekend, so I'm doing it now. I had 1 little haul at CVS and then another (my very first visit to) Ulta. I didn't go too crazy at either place. We did some major grocery shopping so I did just enough to hold me over.
I needed heating pads at CVS and they also had Revlon products at BOGO 50% off and I had 4/$1 off coupons, so I was able to have a little fun. (I had to get one of their items for my 50 follower giveaway and I got some for myself. Giveaway item is not shown FYI.) I, also, wanted to try the new Maybelline 24 Hour Super Stay lip gloss, since the one I did the review on last time wasn't available anymore and was pretty bad. So this is what I ended up with...

Hello, ladies!! I received my April Julep Maven box on Friday! Did you get yours yet?! I honestly believe I was more excited about getting this box than I was about getting my very first one. I don't think I was even in the mood for Spring until I opened this box. The colors are feminine and just practically perfect!
Hello, ladies!! I'm working on a post so this is going to be short and sweet. I took a break from fixing pictures did a little rummaging and came across this little gem! You have plenty of time because it doesn't end until April 30th! The lovely Sarah at The Giveaway Lifestyle is doing a "pick your own 4" Zoya giveaway. I'm loving this one! Click here to enter. Ok, back to working on my post!
