Shimmer Polish Karen

**WARNING PICTURE HEAVY**

It's day 3 of Shimmer Polish week! Today, Maggie chose Karen for me to show you all. If you are a fan of purple, glitter or purple glitter...KEEP READING!!! This post is for you!

(It's still too early for me to say this to you all, but I think Karen is my favorite out of the 5!! Keep reading, you'll see why!!)

Shimmer Polish - Karen

Karen is a clear base filled with lavender and pink micro glitter there's also some small dark purple hexes scatted through out amongst some random orane blue and silver glitters.

This is three coats of Karen with OPI Natural Nail Base Coat and Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.

The slight scatter of orange, plum and blue really adds to the depth of Karen and the silver just gives it body. She's truly a stunner and one of a kind!

Application was decent. There wasn't any pulling or blotting glitter to place, but I partially had the same problem with Karen as I did with Jennifer...only not as bad. I don't leave my bottles open. As soon as I paint a coat on all nails it's sealed until it's dry and needed again. It wasn't gloopy thick, just thicker than it was when I first opened it. I'm sure thinner would fix it...no problem.

Yes, all of Shimmer Polish's beauties are absolute perfection on their own. By no means do they NEED undies. I am merely showing you these to give you all ideas of how versatile a polish is.

This is one coat of Karen over two coats of Cult Nails - My Kind of Cool Aid. My Kind of Cool Aid is a lavender creme with silver shimmer. This pairing was beautiful!! You can't see it great in this picture, but the silver shimmer in My Kind of Cool Aid just lifted Karen like an amazing dance partner. They effortlessly fit together and I can't wait to use this pairing again!

This is one coat of Karen over two coats of Essie - Maximillian Strasse Her. Maximillian Strasse Her is a pale grey-ish green. I can't tell you why I chose this color, but I'm SOOOOOOO glad I did. It's a pink/purple so a grey was an obvious choice, but this green called to me. It really makes Karen a mysterious glitter. Like a sparkle trying to pop through a thick fog. It's mesmerizing.

This is one coat of Karen over two coats of Pomegranate Nail Lacquer - Prince Charmer. Prince Charmer is a grey toned lavender creme. This was definitely a go to polish for Karen, but it didn't wow me like the other two pairings. It looked more like a really pretty glitter polish spilled on a concrete driveway or something. They didn't compliment each other in my eyes.

This is one coat of Karen over two coats of Wet n Wild - Wild Shine - Tickled Pink. Tickled Pink is a basic pale pink creme. As simple as this was it really gave me issues when trying to take pictures. I didn't like this combination, but I really wish it would have given me something better to use on the blog. Karen was beautiful, but Tickled Pink was so bland under it that it was distracting.

This is one coat of Karen over two coats of Nicole by OPI - Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam. Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam is a deep, dark teal. I wanted something dark that wasn't black to pair with Karen. I loved this pairing. It's mysterious and enchanting at the same time.

Now that you've seen it over the 5 undies, now I get to show you the full mani I chose. I did something a little different this time though.

I loved Karen and Maximillion Strasse Her together. I had a hard time choosing between this and Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam, but this won the battle.

One coat of Karen over two coats of Maximillion Strasse Her with Cult Nails Wax That wax effect top coat.

The glitter in Karen just keeps shimmering on even through the wax coat. It's called Shimmer Polish for a reason. It just doesn't stop!

As I was doing my nails for this, a package I recently got caught my eye, specifically one color that would look BEAUTIFUL with this pairing. So I tossed 365 Days of Color - Sand's Gettin' Hot on my thumb and added Cult Nails Wax That top coat on it. This just might be my 2nd favorite mani I've done this year.

Karen and that Wax That top coat are just amazing together!!

Not my focus of the post, but keep an eye for this polish later on!

Now do you see why I'm claiming Karen to be my favorite Shimmer Polish that I own?! It's lovely and versatile and so much fun! The only problem I had was that small one of it getting thick really quick, but just keep thinner close at hand and add a couple drops when needed. Karen should NOT be passed up!! If you LOVE purple and you LOVE glitter...KAREN IS A MUST HAVE! Head on over to her Etsy shop and snag this beauty for $12!! It's an order! (pun intended haha)
