A Girl Obsessed swatch spam
2:21 PM**These products were purchased by me with my own money. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated.**
So, over the holidays I made a couple purchases from and was sent several lovelies from A Girl Obsessed. I've done a couple posts showing some of these, but I wanted to do a swatch spam post to just show them all off on their own. These all deserve their own post, but If I did that, I'd have to have an A Girl Obsessed month. I may love her stuff, but that's a bit overkill. ;o) So, let's jump right in...I have a lot to show you!
(Was a collaboration with the blogger, My Boyfriend Hates Makeup.)
But He Loves Me is the base of My Boyfriend Hates Mint minus the glitter. A soft mint green with an aqua shimmer. This is three thin coats. It applies a little smoother without the glitter, but both of these are not to be missed. $7.50
(Was a collaboration with the blogger, My Boyfriend Hates Makeup.)
Whimsyshire is a clear based glitter topper with a beautiful mix of pastel glitters, purple dots and scattered with black glitter in different shapes. This is one coat over three coats of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. The only glitter I had to partially fish for were the purple dots, everything else seemed to cling to the brush without fishing. (Every time I say that, I think of the scene in Honey I Shrunk the Kids where he's sweeping and the kids are holding onto the broom.) This really is a beautiful combination of colors. It's soft, yet vibrant and it really holds it's own no matter what you put it over. $8
(Was originally made as a custom by the request of My Boyfriend Hates Makeup.)
Now, prepare yourself for some holo overload! Crystal Green Orchid is a mossy fern green jelly holo. This is three thin coats. Perfect application and a stunning color. I love green orchids and I got so excited when I saw she had made this beauty. A stunner for sure! $8
Rubies in the Sand is a rosey red jelly holo. This is three thin coats. It's supposed to be a ruby red shade, but it's a little on the pinky side so I call it rosey red. Either way, it's a fabulous color! $8
What's the Tealio? is a bright blue green jelly holo. This is three thin coats. My jaw dropped once I got this beauty on my nails. No matter the light or angle, the holo will catch your eye. Check out this video I posted to my Instagram!! Trust me, you NEED this polish! $8
Disco Grimace is a beautiful purple jelly holo. It's supposed to be a 'blurple' color, but it's purple and it's beautiful. I love that it's not a deep rich royal purple shade. I can't describe the color, it's almost a darker lavender. This is three thin coats. $8
Gimmel Your Gelt is a bright gold tinted yellow jelly holo. This is three thin coats. I was iffy about this color in the bottle, but once you put it on your nail it comes to life! Finally, a yellow that actually looks good against my pale skin!! Unfortunately, this one is sold out, so if you catch it on a blog sale, snag it up!
Don't Steal My Fuchsia is a bright fuchsia jelly holo. This is three thin coats. Her holos are perfection. The colors, vibrance, application, formula...all of it...wonderful! Take my word for it, buy ALL the AGO holos! $8
Weight of the World is a custom I had Samantha, the lady behind A Girl Obsessed, create for Lacey, the blogger behind My Boyfriend Hates Makeup. Lacey has a tattoo across her back of a world map (there is a photo of it in this post of hers) and it inspired me to have Samantha create this glitter topper. I wanted colors that you would see on a map or globe. Earthy shades of brown, tan, dark and light blues, dark and light greens and a little white and black and a hint of holo. I think Samantha is contemplating releasing this polish for Earth Day, which would be amazing, but for now I'm just showing off this custom. I loved it so much I had to have a bottle for myself.
Secret Santa Baby is a custom polish that I had Samantha create for a Secret Santa swap I did in a group I'm in. Dorene, the blogger behind Love Anela, said she didn't have many holos and loved pastels. And this was a color I had been craving and I knew it was the perfect moment to make it. It's a mint holo crelly. This is three thin coats.
A Very Maggie Christmas was a birthday custom that Samantha made for me inspired by decorations that Maggie (my 4 year old daughter) picked out for Christmas. A clear based glitter topper filled with a silver shimmer and red, blue, green, purple and pink dots in different sizes. It was perfect! This is one coat.
Lastly is a prototype. I had told Samantha I would love a white iridescent crelly polish. This was the first try, it needs more sparkle. However, the formula was perfect. No streaking whatsoever. This is three thin coats.
Each of the above polishes were topped off with her Magpie Shine top coat ($7) and was finished with her Sweet Nectar cuticle oil in it's natural scent - my favorite ($6). All her products are either 3 or 4 Free and her cuticle oil is all natural and vegan friendly.
