Daily Hues Nail Lacquer Violet Swatch and Review

**Polish was gifted to me.**
Sorry I've been a little spacey this week. I had some stuff come up that I had to deal with that just wasn't fun and extremely draining. I had a couple days full of stress. I didn't even eat. So, I'm pulling from my "swatched but never shown" archive today.

Violet is described as "an opaque, satin, wisteria shimmer".
Shown is three coats of Violet.
$8

Normally, I love purples. Violet did nothing for me though. I really wanted to like it because the scatter of pink was a fun surprise. It had a great formula and there weren't any issues applying it. The finish was too frosty for my liking and the brush strokes still show. I'm kind of curious if it stamps though. If I ever get some stamping plates, this will be one I try out with that.

Back on Valentine's Day, I purchased the basics collection from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer. I received the collection, but when I was unwrapping them I felt something sharp on one of the bottles. My skin split a bit but didn't make a full cut. Nothing horrible, but my daughter handles my bottles, so I contacted her. The polish itself wasn't damaged, so I didn't want her to be out money of sending me a whole new bottle. I don't have a steady hand so there was no way I would be able to do a transfer myself. So, I sent her my bottle back thinking she would quickly transfer the polish and send it back. I got tracking so I knew when she received the polish, but time went by and I didn't see it come back so I emailed her. Her kid was sick. That's ok, I've got a kid, I know how it is. More time went by, still nothing, so I sent emails. She was too busy filling orders from a sale to take care of my one bottle. Then I started to get frustrated. Sent frustrating emails and never heard back. Yes, I see her posting in groups on Facebook often. Emails go unanswered for a week. After a month of trying to get my polish back, it finally arrives. I email her to let her know I got it, she replies practically immediately.

Well, along with my replacement bottle, she sent Violet in that package as an apology. It was a lovely gesture, but the whole customer service issue put a sour taste in my mouth. I haven't even tried the original collection I purchased from her.

I really hope this isn't a regular occurrence for Daily Hues Nail Lacquer. If you're interested in trying out her products, they range from $5 to $9.25. I really hope your experience with Daily Hues Nail Lacquer is/was better than mine.

Have you purchased from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer before? If so, how was your experience?

It's a pretty color but it isn't something I'd rush out and buy. Sorry you had a bad experience. That always sucks.

Pretty colour, I can't stand it when you can still see brush strokes in polish. These don't look too bad from your photos x

I like this color! Even though it's brushstrokey, I still like it. Sometimes I can move past brush strokes when I like the color lol I don't have any experience with this brand.

Hi! I responded to your IG post and I wanted to let you know that I do read all my brands blog posts. Things have settled, things have changed for the better in my little world. I am much more organized and have changed things around. I hope I can deal with you in the future and I hope you try the essentials! The black is my best seller. Thank you for trying Violet and it looks great on you!

I don't like the finish at all but maybe it can become useful for you if it stamps.

My experience with her is really frustrating as well. I made a purchase in February, had an issue, and it still isn't fixed. She's been ignoring my emails for sometime now and until the last one about a week and a half ago I was very pleasant about it. I actually really liked the polish I tried from her but will not purchase from her or recommend her brand. Her service is rediculous and she has an excuse for everything. I just wish she'd fix the issue so I wouldn't feel so negative about her brand! I see her constantly posting on FB and IG so I know it isn't a time issue.

I love this color. I've never had issues with DHNL, and Jenn has always seemed super sweet. I know she had probs with the big sale, so don't let that deter you. She's typically very fast with shipping.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a problem. I have a number of Daily Hues and have never had a problem. I know she got really overloaded with her sale and her response time probably slowed down a lot. Hopefully things are better now. I'm not crazy about this polish either, the visible brush strokes are a huge turn off for me. But I've been on a major cremes kick lately, not even touching my holos very much! *gasp* Although I did pull out Daily Hues Carol the other day, my most favorite red holo ever! Its a one coater and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that one to anybody.

so sorry you had such an awful experience. i have only ordered from DHL once, back for black friday and I made purchases from four other companies. DHL was first to arrive, loved both formulas and shades on all three polishes and i sincerely couldn't have been happier with my purchase. so sad it wasn't the same for you I'm sorry. sucks when these things happen

I don't love the colour either. Sorry about the bad experience. That would turn me off a brand as well.

Wow, what a terrible first impression. I don't blame you for being frustrated one bit. Glad she finally rectified the original issue, just a shame how she went about it. I have no experience with this brand, but customer service is very important to me so something like this would turn me off too. Hope things get better for you soon!

The pink flash is so pretty but yeah the brush strokes can be a deterrent, this would look really pretty stamped over pink though.CS is a complete make or break for me too and I'm sorry you had such a bad experience.

Ouch for that CS problem, that is no good and I can see how that could cloud the whole experience so much. The color is pretty, but not a fan of frosty finishes.

Aw, too bad about the slow shipping on getting your polish back. I've ordered a few times so far and haven't had problems.

I've never tried this brand. The polish is nice, but I'm one of those anti frost people lol. I'm glad she eventually sent you the polish, but with so many brands out there to try, great customer service really is a must.

I felt in love with daily hues when I got Fiona ! This one is also very pretty

It's a pretty color, although I'm not a fan of the brush strokes.

I reviewed for her for some time ago and although 90% she was good, there was one time where she wasn't and I am still waiting to hear back from her. It is what it is. I've long gotten over the fact but it's definitely an area she needs improvement in.

Sorry you've had a few bad days and sorry to hear you had a bad experience with this indie maker. I don't own any Daily Hues Nail Lacquers so I can't comment on that. This polish though, I like the color but I don't gravitate towards this type of 'frosty' satin finish.

I haven't tried this brand before....I like frosted polishes but not super visible brush strokes...

I've never tried this brand before but I'm sorry you had such a poor experience!!! I'm not big on frosted finishes so I probably won't buy this one for myself.
