My Top 5 Favorite Indie Polishes...from Brands That are No Longer in Business

I have something fun for you all this Friday! I did a link up with several other bloggers. The theme was "My Top 5 Favorite Indie Polishes" and we were able to interpret that as we wished. I had such a hard time narrowing down my top 5 favorite indie polishes in general. Then I started thinking I could do my top 5 of a certain color, or a certain brand, or a certain finish, or a certain base. Even narrowing it down to any of those I would have had major difficulties. I was sitting in my polish room, completely lost, spinning around in my desk chair...when it hit me.

I saw my wall rack with all my polishes from brands that are no longer selling polish. I'll do a top 5 favorite indie polish list from my favorite brands that are no longer in business. We always get sad when another indie bites the dust. Why not let everyone remember what we have lost so we can do what we can to not let it happen to anyone of our current favorites.

Let's get to it...in no particular order.
Windestine
Androgynous
Androgynous is a pale, taupe-toned, nude crelly with metallic turquoise hex glitter, metallic silver hex glitter, metallic purple hex glitter, and small iridescent and holo square glitter.
Shown is three coats of Androgynous with top coat.
Androgynous is super sheer and even after 3 coats there is still VNL. I don't mind that though. I'm a sucker for a nude and this is one of the polishes that made me fall in love with nudes. I've got a couple others from Windestine that are wonderful as well, but this one holds a special place in my heart.

365 Days of Color
Waterlily
Waterlily is a grey crelly with a slight taupe tinge, metallic square glitter in dusty rose, spring green, and turquoise, and filled with a blue shimmer.
Shown is three coats of Waterlily with top coat.
Waterlily was one of 365 Days of Color's limited edition polishes. It is inspired by the Claude Monet painting of the same name (shown below). I've loved Monet paintings since I was 5, so I knew I needed this as soon as it was announced. I only regret not getting a back up. I have so many polishes from her and love them all, but this one is special to me.
Yes, 365 Days of Color is still in business. However, she no longer sells polishes. Right now she is only selling hand and bath care items. They are all absolutely fantastic and you should definitely check those out!

Femme Fatale Lacquer
Poisonberry
Poisonberry is a vibrant, neon, purple crelly with matte, cobalt blue hexes and bars that dries matte.
Shown is three coats of Poisonberry with top coat.
Narrowing down my favorite Femme Fatale Lacquer was incredibly hard. Ultimately, the color did it for me. Poisonberry is such a unique color. It applies thin, but builds well. The glitter in this is sparse so it is hard to get a lot out. However, with this color, you don't mind at all. *sigh* I love her.

Naild' It Unique Nail Polish
Bleeding Love
Bleeding Love is a bright fuchsia jelly filled with metallic glitter in all shapes and sizes in purple, pink, and magenta, and metallic silver heart shaped glitter.
Shown is three coats of Bleeding Love with top coat.
Squishy jellies are the best, and Bleeding Love is one that started my love for them. It layers beautifully to create a fantastic depth. The heart glitter is difficult to get out, but you don't even mind because the rest of it is stellar.

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer
Improv Show
Improv Show is a deep amethyst purple cream filled with metallic silver and purple flecks and scattered with metallic pink and blue flecks.
Shown is three coats of Improv Show with top coat.
Improv Show is one of those beauties that isn't photogenic. He comes to life in person. Smooth, buttery application and practically perfect in every way. We could call it the Mary Poppins of polish.
Because the above macro didn't do it justice, I took one in direct light. Enjoy!

I tried not to have an honorable mention, but we've recently lost Cult Nails. I had to show off my favorite Cult Nails polish. I have many from this brand, but once they released Nevermore it was my favorite. It has been my favorite ever since. It is perfection!

Cult Nails
Nevermore
Nevermore is a glossy, black cream.
Shown is one coat of Nevermore withOUT top coat.
Yes, this beauty is THAT glossy. Nevermore stole my heart from the first second it touched my nails. The most perfect black cream ever, and it is no longer being made. I might have cried a little.
There you have it! My list of favorites from indies that are no longer with us. Do you have any beauties from any of these brands? If so, what are your favorites? If not, any favorites from what I showed you?

I think we are talking about doing a monthly "Top 5 Favorite Indie Polishes" link up. We all picked where we wanted to go from there, but do you have any suggestions for more detailed "Top 5 Favorite Indie Polishes" lists?
