Nouveau Geek Box Superheroes Theme Swatch and Review

There are two Nouveau Geek Boxes this month. The main person who handles them moved states last month, and instead of skipping they pushed last month's into the beginning of the month and the one already scheduled for this month was pushed to the second half. Yes, in one month you're getting a Harry Potter box AND a superheroes box. Kind of awesome if you ask me! The brands involved in the superheroes themed Nouveau Geek Box this month are Bohemian Polish, Alter Ego, Daily Hues Nail Lacquer, and Firecracker Lacquer. These ladies took inspiration from the obvious and not so obvious to create the beauties in this box. I think you're really going to like it!

How cute are the little extras that come in the box?! Batman is a finger puppet. I put him on my shelf with all the little goodies that I get in different subscription boxes. He was good quality. My daughter definitely took the temporary tattoos. She is obsessed with those. I still haven't perfected the transfer though. If you have any secrets to that...let me know. She is definitely frustrated with me there.
My Utility Belt is Holo
Firecracker Lacquer's contribution is My Utility Belt is Holo.
My Utility Belt is Holo is described as "a black jelly with holo accents".

My Utility Belt is Holo is a fun and classic looking polish. A great way to represent Batman. You see this polish, and you know exactly what it was inspired by. Of course, Batman would be so much better with a holo utility belt, but I'm not mad at him for not having one. This polish applies a little streaky, but three coats will get you full opacity and great layering to build up the glitter. I did like that the glitter wasn't packed in. Batman is always sleek and simple. This polish embodies that.

Man of Steel
Bohemian Polish's first contribution is Man of Steel.
Man of Steel is described as "a superholo jam-packed with red and blue glitters and gold shimmer".
Shown is two coats of Man of Steel with She Shines top coat.
Man of Steel is a sight to behold. There is so much sparkle in this it will seem like you're moving at the speed of light. Word of warning...don't stare directly at your nails when in the sun. It could be blinding. This polish is incredibly pigmented and wonderfully opaque. I did two thin coats, but you could easily get away with one coat if it wasn't too thin.

Give Me A Scotch, I'm Starving
Daily Hues Nail Lacquer's contribution is Give Me a Scotch, I'm Starving.
Give Me a Scotch, I'm Starving is described as "a glittery red linear holo with accents of gold".
Shown is two coats of Give Me a Scotch, I'm Starving with She Shines top coat.
Give Me a Scotch, I'm Starving is one stunning red polish. It's loud, in your face, I'm sure it's drunk half the time as well...it's part of the reason we love it. Somehow it is still charming. You'll fall head over heels for this flawless polish. Absolutely stunning!

True Blue
Bohemian Polish's second contribution is True Blue.
True Blue is described as "a bright blue holo".
Shown is two coats of True Blue with She Shines top coat.
True Blue will be your new go to blue holo. The color is perfect for year round, the holo isn't overwhelming and perfect to be worn on its own, as the base for nail art, or even opaque enough to be used in nail art. It is all around good. What better representation of Captain America do we need? None. Flawless application, beautiful formula. It would, honestly, pair beautifully with any of the other polishes in this box.

Vampire Slayer
Alter Ego's first contribution is Vampire Slayer.
Vampire Slayer is described as "a yellow crelly with purple glitters".
Shown is three coats of Vampire Slayer with She Shines top coat.
Vampire Slayer is a yellow everyone is going to love. I couldn't stop staring at it in the bottle, then I got it on my nails and I couldn't stop smiling. It's filled with beautiful holo sparkle and the purple glitter makes the perfect accent. She did a great job interpreting her inspiration. I love that someone did a Buffy polish. It is a bit sheer so three coats is necessary, but the formula is beautiful.

She Shines
Alter Ego's second contribution is She Shines top coat.
She Shines is a quick dry, glossy top coat.
I used it on all of the above swatches and really liked it. It applies well and dries quick. Doesn't dull holo either.
Superheroes is such a fun theme! When DC and Marvel unite some good can come out of it. September's second Nouveau Geek Box is available to pre-order now until Friday, September 30th at 11:59 pm EST. For domestic orders, it will be available for $50 shipped. It will also be available internationally for $60 shipped.
