I was ecstatic when she told me she was creating a collection inspired by the musical Rent. It's no secret that I adore anything related to Broadway and musicals. This month's G.N.O.M.E. Box is special. They are going back to how things originally were with just Rica and Stardust Beauty contributing polishes. Keeping things short and sweet today. I decided to pull my daughter out of school tomorrow for some good ol' fashioned hands on learning. I'm taking her up to Philadelphia for a Hillary Clinton rally. She's old enough to have payed attention, asked questions, and form her own opinions. I'm very proud of the little lady she's becoming. I couldn't pass up an opportunity for her to experience this. 

So, today, I'm ending the mystery of Rica's Monthly Mystery polish. It used to be a monthly thing, but she decided to spread it out a bit. After a couple months the Monthly Mystery is back and there are only a few left! I figured it was time for an unveiling as a final push. I give you Farewell My Lady!

And it is already time for another G.N.O.M.E. Box! Time flies! I don't even realize it until I a monthly box shows up in my mail box. I think my neighbors think I'm nuts when I start yelling "AGAIN?!" when I pull a package out of my mail box. For those of you who don't know, G.N.O.M.E. stands for Glitter Nerds Of Magical Existance. It is a monthly box with Rica and Stardust Beauty as the main makers. Sometimes it will just be them, other times they have a single guest maker. There is a guest this month, and it is Jior Couture.

They've had fun in the 80's with Rainbow Brite, now they are heading into the 90's with a 90's movies themed Magic 8 Box! When they told me 90's movies was the theme for the November Magic 8 Box, I was beyond excited! If you're not familiar with the Magic 8 Box, it is a box of eight polishes that is released every other month. Four brands are a constant (Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, My Indie Polish, and Rica) and then there are four guest brands every month. The guest brands this month are: Cameo Colours Lacquers, Supernatural Lacquer, Darling Diva Polish, and Anchor & Heart Lacquer. These ladies had some fun with nostalgia this box. I figured we would finish this week with a bang! Did you realize it is already time for the next Magic 8 Box?! Yeah, neither did I. But here we are...in August...getting ready to take a peek at September's Magic 8 Box. UGH! I need Hermione's time turner necklace. If only to try to make time stand still for a moment or two. Anyway...the Magic 8 Box...this month's theme was Hello from Around the World. When I found out what the theme was I was really excited to see what they would do to bring these countries alive. Knowing that they could take inspiration from practically anything...or nothing...kinda made me giddy with excitement. Each maker chose a country. From there, they chose a greeting native to that country and named their polish accordingly. I've even included pronunciations and translations. Maybe you will learn a little something new in addition to enjoying the beautiful polishes!

As usual, the four permanent makers in the Magic 8 Box are: Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquer, Rica, and My Indie Polish. The four makers they invited to go on this month's journey with them are: Doctor Lacquer, Scofflaw, Lollipop Posse Lacquer, and Drip Drop Nail Paint. I was happy that I had three new (to me) brands to try this time around. Such a fun way to get to try new brands!

This bright, rainbow colored collection is the Down the Shore Collection, named after beaches and places on the Jersey shore. Today, I get to show you all swatches of the next G.N.O.M.E. Box. This is my first time working with this box, and I was so excited when they approached me. The G.N.O.M.E. Box stands for Glitter Nerds Of Magical Existence. That is clever and whimsical and I love it! This box is different in that it only has three makers. Keeping it small allows it to be a bit more affordable at only $24. Rica and Stardust Beauty are the two brands that are constant with every box. This month, the guest maker is Girly Bits. I had a little snafu with my hard drive so I wasn't able to access pictures for the post I was originally going to do, but I had this one in my back pocket for a time like this. In talking, Ricarda, from Rica, took note that I had been looking for a new black cream since my favorite had been discontinued. Well, she sent me her basic black and white polishes to try...Blackout and Whiteout. No shimmer. No holo. No flakies. No jelly. No crelly. Just creams. Black and white creams. Needless to say, I was excited to give these a shot. Ready to see what my thoughts were?

Today, I've got the beautiful Neverending Story inspired collection from Rica to show you all today. This 5 piece beauty is going to be a must have on everyone's wish lists. The collection is soft neutrals with one stand out darker polish. I was beyond impressed with how she interpreted each character and aspect from the movie. It's ethereal and breathtaking. I'm a big musical theater buff, so when they asked me to swatch this one...well, you'll see my reactions in a moment. Don't think you need to enjoy musicals to fall in love with these beauties though. 

The Magic 8 Box consists of polishes from 8 makers, all having to do with the same theme. Each box has 4 consistent makers: Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, My Indie Polish, and Rica. As well as, 4 guest makers. In this month's box, the guests are: Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, Top Shelf Lacquer, Paint Box Polish, and Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer. Get ready to fall in love with these, and prepare yourself to possibly have an ear worm or two. This post is full of fun!

Who is ready for an 80's love song sing-a-long?! Yeah, get ready, because you're about to have a whole lotta ear worms up in your head. I was invited to swatch and review the March 2016 Magic 8 Box. March's theme is 80's love songs. What a fantastic theme they chose! Also, are you noticing anything different? Yeah, there are 8 polishes in that picture, and yes, that says Magic 8 Box. The Beauty Quartet Box is no more. These wonderful ladies had so much fun with them, they decided to expand. Every box will contain polishes from Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquer, My Indie Polish, and Rica. They will invite 4 other indies to join in each box. This time around they brought in Delush Polish, Pipe Dream Polish, Native War Paints, and ALIQUID Lacquer. I, for one, am loving this change. The more the merrier I like to say!
