Magic 8 Box November 2016 Swatch and Review

They've had fun in the 80's with Rainbow Brite, now they are heading into the 90's with a 90's movies themed Magic 8 Box! When they told me 90's movies was the theme for the November Magic 8 Box, I was beyond excited! If you're not familiar with the Magic 8 Box, it is a box of eight polishes that is released every other month. Four brands are a constant (Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, My Indie Polish, and Rica) and then there are four guest brands every month. The guest brands this month are: Cameo Colours Lacquers, Supernatural Lacquer, Darling Diva Polish, and Anchor & Heart Lacquer. These ladies had some fun with nostalgia this box. They Sucked His Brains Out!
Darling Diva Polish's movie pick is Starship Troopers, and her polish contribution is They Sucked His Brains Out!
They Sucked His Brains Out! is described as "a pale pink holo with gold shimmer and gold flecks".

They Sucked His Brains Out! is too pretty to be about something so gross. haha This polish did apply slightly thin, and I do super thin coats anyway, so three coats was the perfect opacity. Super smooth application and incredible formula. Can't go wrong with a beautiful pink polish!

Aww, Honey You Baked!
Philly Loves Lacquer's movie pick is Clueless, and her polish contribution is Aww, Honey You Baked!
Aww, Honey You Baked! is described as "a pink/mauve holo with platinum silver micro flakies, silver galaxy holo, and silver holo micro glitter".
Shown is three thin coats of Aww, Honey You Baked! with top coat.
Aww, Honey You Baked! is a beautiful, smokey red! There is a crazy amount of glitter in there too! Originally I thought it was pigment, then I took a closer look and saw it was all glitter. Despite all the glitter, you still get a smooth application. I applied thin coats, so of course I did three coats. It is slightly thin though, so you'll want three for full opacity.

Victims, Aren't We All?
Cameo Colours Lacquers' movie pick is The Crow, and her polish contribution is Victims, Aren't We All?
Victims, Aren't We All? is described as "a deep, blood red jelly with tango red micro flakes, black and red holo micro glitter, and silver holo micro flakes".
Shown is three coats of Victims, Aren't We All? with top coat.
Victims, Aren't We All? is the squishiest of squishy jellies! This takes the phrase "I bleed glitter" to a whole other level. The way the glitter peeks through the layers of jelly is mesmerizing. Smooth application, amazing formula, and no staining! 

The Matrix
My Indie Polish's movie pick is The Matrix, and her polish contribution is The Matrix.
The Matrix is described as "a black jelly with green shimmer, green sparks, moss green glitter, and teal galaxy glitter".
Shown is two coats of The Matrix with top coat.
The Matrix is so dark you could almost get away with one coat! I do thin coats, so if I would have done a normal coat it would have been one and done. I didn't even have to do clean up. Highly impressive!

Deep Shit, Arkansas
Rica's movie pick is Thelma & Louise, and her polish contribution is Deep Shit, Arkansas.
Deep Shit, Arkansas is described as "a sky blue linear holo with scattered holo bits and micro flakes".

Deep Shit, Arkansas is a thing of blue beauty! I adore the added flakies in this. They add a wonderful dimension. Smooth application, a bit sheer so three coats is needed, but you'll love the amount of flakes and depth you get with this one.

Heart of the Ocean
Smokey Mountain Lacquer's movie pick is Titanic, and her polish contribution is Heart of the Ocean.
Heart of the Ocean is described as "a blue shimmery holo".
Shown is two coats of Heart of the Ocean with top coat.
Heart of the Ocean is another one that could have easily been a one coater. Amazing opacity and great formula. It is a tad bit thick, so find a happy medium to get that perfect one coat! She absolutely killed it with this color. The shimmer adds the perfect something extra to make it look like water. Gorgeous!

Dino DNA
Anchor & Heart Lacquer's movie pick is Jurassic Park, and her polish contribution is Dino DNA.
Dino DNA is described as "a swampy dark green holo with blue shimmer and sparks".
Shown is two coats of Dino DNA with top coat.
Dino DNA is the third polish in this box that could be a one coater if you don't do thin coats. I couldn't capture the shift, but it is almost a duochrome. The green definitely stands out but in certain light it shifts to a deep red/orange color. A perfect polish for dinosaurs! Deep, dark, and shifty. Fab application and formula. Flawless!

We Are the Weirdos, Mister
Supernatural Lacquer's movie pick is The Craft, and her polish contribution is We Are the Weirdos, Mister.
We Are the Weirdos, Mister is described as "a black crelly with orange shimmer, platinum silver flakes, rainbow micro flakes, and white micro flakes".
Shown is two coats of We Are the Weirdos, Mister with top coat.
We Are the Weirdos, Mister is the most perfect polish to pair with this movie! I love this movie and when I saw this polish I might have let out a squeal. That orange shimmer and rainbow flakes are everything! The way they pop within the black base is sure to put you in a trance. Same incredible formula and application that all her polishes have.
