NailNation3000 Giorgio's Holo Swatch and Review

**The product in this post was given to me by a friend.**

If Monday wasn't bad enough, last night my daughter got a horrible fever. I thought I was going to have to take her to the ER it was so bad. So, I'm nursing her today and helping her get better. I hate when she is sick. Makes me so sad. Anyway, she's napping so I'm typing this up before checking her temperature again.

A couple months ago a friend sent me this bottle of NailNation3000 Giorgio's Holo. We were talking about brands and she was raving about NailNation3000. I had never tried the brand. Frankly, nothing I had seen from them was original or looked worth the price. Those are just my impressions of the brand before trying them. Browse the photos, and my final impression will be at the end.

Giorgio's Holo is a navy blue shimmer base with linear holo.
Shown is three coats of Giorgio's Holo.

When I first got this bottle, I did what I always the bottle to check out the brush, see if I needed to clean polish of the top of the bottle, and get a feel for the consistency. I barely got the brush all the way out before I had to immediately close it due to the smell. You know when you're walking in a mall and you get halfway down a wing and you know there's a nail salon at the end because the stench is just awful? Yeah, that's the smell you get when opening a bottle of NailNation3000 polish. Instant headache. I closed it up and set it aside until I could figure out how I was going to swatch it.

I set this polish aside. I kept passing over it. Not only was I afraid of it because of my scent induced migraines and that smell, but I just wasn't feeling it. I love a good navy, but there just wasn't anything to get excited about here. One day, I was cleaning out our cats' litter box. I was putting on the mask I wear to protect me from the smell, I knew I found my answer! I sucked it up, put the mask on and swatched away.

Formula was decent, but the polish itself did nothing for me. Honestly, I wasn't impressed with it before I even opened the bottle and was turned off by the smell. I have nothing against NailNation3000, it is just not the brand for me. I know there are several people who love her products, and we are all allowed to have our own opinions. Until she uses different products to create her polishes, and get a little more creative with her polishes...I just can't use them.

If you're one who doesn't have issues with polishes with strong smells and want to give them a shot...all of their links are below.

Ugh, I can't stand when polishes have a strong scent. I haven't tried any of these polishes and I don't think I will be.

I haven't tried this brand, is it 3-free? If it's not that would explain the smell. I would pass on a polish with such a strong scent anyway, it makes me a little scared about the ingredients.

Her website says they are. With the stench I have a hard time believing that.

Me neither. I even have a couple Klean Colors and I can't recall them being THIS bad.

It looks pretty, but smell is rough. I have the same issue with my MdU stamping polishes, they smell like rancid gasoline.

A friend sent me the Creative Stamper and I was going to look into the MdU stamping polishes, but now that you said that I don't think I can. :/ Thank you!

Amy L said...

Yeah...I'd stay away. I won't lie, they pay off is they awesome opaque beautiful stamps, but the smell is rough and I'm not that sensitive to smell often.

I get light and strong scent induced migraines that can leave me incapacitated for 2-3 days sometimes. It's awful.

I own many nn3 and love them all. To each their own, I can totally appreciate the honesty.

I know several people who own and love them. I have nothing against her or her polishes. I just can't do the smell.

All of mine smell like normal polish. But I totally understand. I get headaches and migraines and no one wants that from some polish. Lol

This is gorgeous, I don't mind strong smells :)

Beautiful polish, hope your daughter is feeling better soon xx

A pretty navy, but I could probably find this for cheaper through another brand with a less-offensive smell. :/

Hope your little sweetie is feeling better soon!

I've never heard of the brand but I'll be avoiding for sure after reading your review.

We ended up at the ER last night and she seems to be better this morning. The shade is nice, but it's really nothing special for that price. I've got others like it.

I'd glanced over the polish once, but was turned off instantly by the price for what seemed to me to be underwhelming polishes.

I think this is a pretty polish and your swatches of it are gorgeous. Perhaps I have simple tastes. I am sorry to hear about the smell though and would definitely pass for that reason (not sure what the price point is but probably out of my league anyway).

I hope your daughter is all better <3 <3

meh. I'm with you - It's just okay. That sucks about the smell too!

It's a shame about the smell because I really like the shade of blue.

Oh, I hope your daughter is feeling better! Thank you for the honest review, I've actually never heard of this brand before.

After an ER trip and a trip to the dr she is feeling better! Thank you!

Hope your daughter is well now. The shade is pretty, the smell is unfortunate..

Glad to hear the kiddo is better. I have a few NailNation 3000 polishes, and I never noticed an awful smell, but I suppose she could have switched to a different base. It stinks that you had a bad experience with this one, I love the ones I have. :/

Hi there,
Sorry that you feel that way. I can assure you they are all actually 5 free. And As for price there are always mulitiple discoount codes available for discounts ranging from 20-35% off on average. And the smell I am unsure why you have that experience especially with that color. Very rarely do I have a liquid piugment that smells strong and if I use one I list in descriptions on store always. Now if you would like I would gladly send you a new shade to try so that maybe you can be renewed with my brand. I actually have quite a few unique shades. This on is from a Custom Collection so the shades are catered to the people they were made for as customs,

I still use the same base as always. <3

Maybe the person that sent it did something to it and messed it up. I hear everyone raving about them and the wonderful formula. It was just a disappointment after hearing such amazing things. I'll definitely be giving them a try again when I can afford them. :) It's better for them to come from the source for sure.

I really hope the smell isn't a normal thing. I'm always up forgiving it a go again. I believe in second chances. :)

(Sorry I just got around to replying. Had company for a while and I took a break from social media during that time.)
