**Press Samples**

You guys...hold onto your socks! I'm getting ready to knock them off your feet! Pretty & Polished has gone and taken all of our favorite female songstresses and figured out how to put their essence into a bottle. I know that sounds incredibly strange and creepy, and if you've seen the movie Perfume: The Story of a Murderer...no, she didn't go all serial killer on us. She went serial glitter on us. You guys, I can't. The Icon Collection Part I is more than amazing. Keep reading to you can see the polishes and their inspirations. I hope you're sitting down...

**WARNING MEDIA HEAVY**
Inspired by Janet Jackson, her many talents, and the music video for Rhythm Nation.
Rhythm Nation is described as "a thermal polish that changes from a dark grey to a softer pale grey when warm, with holographic sparkle, holographic glitter and bright purple and dark grey micro flakes".
Shown is three coats of Rhythm Nation with top coat without manipulation.
Rhythm Nation is the classic, strong, beauty that never goes out of style. No matter how old we get, how many kids are strapped into carseats in the back of our cars, when this song starts blaring through the radio we all turn into divas. We will forever embarrass our kids attempting to do the dance we recorded onto a VHS tape and wore it out rewinding trying to memorize the choreography. No matter how hard we try, we will never live up to Janet (or Joseph Gordon-Levitt on Lip Synch Battle...let's be honest...he killed it). However, we can have fierce nails every time we do that famous countdown as long as there is this polish. Smooth formula and beautiful application. Thin coats is best to ensure a quick dry time, so do three for full opacity.

Inspired by Madonna's strength, confidence, and femininity, and the music video for Express Yourself.
Express Yourself is described as "a soft, white crelly base packed with sexy, red and gold holographic glitters, as well as rose and dark grey flakes".
Shown is three coats of Express Yourself with top coat.
Express Yourself may not be the boundary pushing polish you'd envision when you think of Madonna. However, Madonna is strong and confident and still oozes femininity despite all of her transformations over the years. What a better way to pay tribute than a simple classic beauty that never goes out of style? This crelly has a great application even if it is packed with glitter. I still recommend thin coats so the glitter gets a chance to spread and not get piled on top of each other.

Inspired by Gwen Stefani, her "be yourself no matter what" attitude, and the music video for No Doubt's Just a Girl.
Just a Girl is described as "a bright blue holographic jelly with blue/purple shimmer, and color shifting flakes".
Shown is three coats of Just a Girl with top coat.
Just a Girl kinda surprised me. You think of Gwen, you immediately think of red lips or the platinum blonde hair. I love that she chose blue for this. I remember watching the video and loving her shirt. The pop of blue always stood out. She took it and ran with it, and did a beautiful job. This jelly applies like butter, and the brush is easy to manipulate so there was no clean up needed. There was still some VNL after 2 coats, I'd do three for full coverage. You're going to love how vibrant this blue is. Pictures don't do it justice.

Genie in a Bottle

Inspired by Christina Aguilera, the magic of her powerhouse voice in such a tiny body, and her music video for Genie in a Bottle.
Genie in a Bottle is described as "a thermal polish that changes from a soft teal to a pale pink when warm, with holographic sparkle, as well as teal and pink holographic micro glitters".
Shown is three coats of Genie in a Bottle with top coat without manipulation.
Genie in a Bottle was always a favorite of mine. I was a lover of all things MMC. When Christina and Britney both released albums I was beyond excited. I had the choreography to both of their videos memorized. When I hear Genie in a Bottle, I immediately think of the white top with the turquoise beads flailing around while she's doing the genie dance. As soon as I saw this polish, I knew what it was before looking at the label. Beautifully put together, and with the addition of the thermal it just keeps getting better. Easy application with no issues.

Blown Away
Source
Source

Source
Inspired by Carrie Underwood, her evolution from country girl to country superstar, and her music video for Blown Away.
Blown Away is described as "a tri-colored thermal polish blue when cold, green when room temperature, and grey when warm, all with a dusty appearance".
Shown is three coats of Blown Away with top coat without manipulation.
Blown Away is my first tri-colored thermal. I thought it would be more difficult to work with, however it was an absolute joy. Exactly how I imagine it is to work with Carrie. Is it just me, or does she just seem to be the most easy going and care-free person alive? The polish was easy to work with, but my polish room was on the warm side so it wouldn't stay transformed for long. I did what I could to capture it though. My goodness is this one gorgeous polish. Easy to work with but slightly sheer. Definitely do three coats. You won't regret it.

Firework

Source
Inspired by Katy Perry, her ability to give a voice to those considered the underdogs, and her music video for Firework.
Firework is described as "a full coverage flakie polish with many different colors and textures".
Shown is three coats of Firework with top coat.
Firework is just as explosive and Katy's personality. All of the different flakies in this beauty just layer together for so much dimension and depth. The color almost looks antique like, but with a closer look at all the different colors it is truly like a fireworks finale on your nails. The colors blend together in a beautiful mess that completely works.

Run the World

Source
Inspired by Beyonce, her strength, and her music video for Run the World.
Run the World is described as "a strong, black jelly polish with gold and copper holographic glitters, and copper shifting flakes".
Shown is three coats of Run the World with top coat.
Run the World is badass. There is no other words to describe it. This is a give no f*@ks sort of polish. It is strong and bold, and you can totally feel that coming through with it on your nails. You'll be feeling all sorts of Sasha Fierce (pun intended). This is one of the ultimate girl power songs, and this beauty is sure to give your confidence an extra boost. Gorgeous polish! Not a bad word to say about it. (No way I'd want to get on her bad side after Lemonade anyway.)

Set Fire to the Rain
Source
Source
Source
Inspired by Adele, her powerful music and lyrics, and her music video for Set Fire to the Rain.
Set Fire to the Rain is described as "a thermal polish that changes from a red to a pale orange/purple shift with fiery color shifting flakes".
Shown is three coats of Set Fire to the Rain with top coat without manipulation.
Set Fire to the Rain is probably the most unique of the bunch. The warm state is a shade of dusty purple I've honestly not seen before. The flakes even seem to transform with the changing of the temperature. Just like Adele this polish is big and bold and in your face, but it has those delicate and soft parts that just bring you to your knees (or the tears to your eyes whichever way the music moves you).
