Nouveau Geek Box Star Trek Theme Swatch and Review

9:08 AM

**Press Samples**

Next up for the Nouveau Geek Box is a Star Trek theme. I was looking forward to this one because I'm not too familiar with Star Trek myself. I grew up in a Star Wars house. I'm not opposed to it, I just haven't gotten around to watching the series. (I've seen one of the new movies, but I know that doesn't quite count.) Well, even though I am not familiar with Star Trek, I was looking forward to seeing what this month's makers had in store for us. Instead of 4 to 5 polishes an some extras, we get 5 full sized bottles and one mini bottle (but it is on the larger side of minis). The makers chosen for the Star Trek themed Nouveau Geek Box are Bohemian Polish, Turtle Tootsie Polish, Cinema Swatch Lacquer, Lollipop Posse Lacquer, and Black Lace Cosmetics. The box will be available later today, so let's dive in!

**WARNING PICTURE HEAVY**
Klingon
Turtle Tootsie Polish's contribution is Klingon.
Klingon is described as "a brown holo polish with brown micro glitter and a golden shimmer".
Shown is three thin coats of Klingon with top coat.
Klingon is the name for the antagonizing villains in the series, as well as the name for the language they speak. This beauty is wonderfully unique! I loved seeing a brown in this box. It's not a color you normally see. Smooth application with zero issues. This would be great as a base for some beautiful nail art even!

Unlimited Data
Bohemian Polish's first contribution is Unlimited Data.
Unlimited Data is described as "a shimmer, frosty, off-white polish with gold flecks and flakies".
Shown is two coats of Unlimited Data with top coat.
Unlimited Data is named for everyone's favorite android from the series, Data. This frosty beauty was a surprise to me. I loved the pops of gold in the silvery white mess. It was almost metallic so it applied slightly streaky, but not to a point where it messed up the polish. A beautiful and unique polish!

Deep Space Fine
Bohemian Polish also contributed Deep Space Fine.
Deep Space Fine is described as "a linear holo top coat with added holographic glitter in blue and purple hues".
Shown is one coat of Deep Space Fine over Unlimited Data with top coat.
Deep Space Fine is a play on words with the Star Trek series Deep Space Nine. I loved this one paired with Unlimited Data. The colors worked so well together. It had a smooth application and easy to use formula. The glitters didn't require any fishing. Zero complaints...other than that this was a mini. haha

The Only Redshirt That Didn't Die Because He Wore Orange
Black Lace Cosmetics' contribution is The Only Redshirt That Didn't Die Because He Wore Orange.
The Only Redshirt That Didn't Die Becausse He Wore Orange is described as "an orangey-red shimmery color with a touch of holo".
Shown is three thick coats of The Only Redshirt That Didn't Die Because He Wore Orange with top coat.
The Only Redshirt That Didn't Die Because He Wore Orange is named so because the maker always thought that it looked like Scotty wore orange when all the others wore red. This was the hardest to work with. The polish itself had a good smooth formula and application, but it is incredibly sheer. I had to do crazy thick coats to even attempt to get full coverage. Some VNL doesn't really bother me, but three normal coats of this was still almost like one coat. I think this one would be beautiful layered over a solid orange or even a black. It'd be fun to even try it over a red or yellow to see how playful the polish could get.

Locutus of Borg
Cinema Swatch Lacquer's contribution is Locutus of Borg.
Locutus of Borg is described as "a black crelly base filled with blue-toned shimmer, navy flakes, and fantasy flakes".
Shown is two coats of Locutus of Borg with top coat.
Locutus of Borg was inspired by Captain Picard's assimilation Geiger-esque alien race, the Borg. Two perfect coats of this beauty will have you in a deep, dark, mysterious, heaven. The flashes of blue and the flakes only come out to play in the right light. You'll have so much fun watching this one come to life.

Stardate 41153.7
Lollipop Posse Lacquer's contribution is Stardate 41153.7.
Stardate 41153.7 is described as "a scattered silver holographic with blue shimmer and dark blue micro glitter".
Shown is two coats of Stardate 41153.7 with top coat.
Stardate 41153.7 is named for the Stardate given during the first episode of The Next Generation series, Encounter at Farpoint. This polish is backed with beauty! Only two coats is needed for full opacity even though you'll feel like you should do three. It's more opaque than it looks. Smooth application and formula. Absolutely zero issues. You'll fall head over heels for this one for sure!
