I'm sorry I was absent yesterday. I needed a break. I went to type up my post the night before, and my computer basically gave me the bird. I ended up being on the phone with Apple Care for over 3 hours. We didn't hang up until almost midnight. Needless to say I went to bed after that and figured I'd take the day off to hang with the kiddo. But, I'm back, and I've got three more Message in a Bottle Polishes from Anchor & Heart Lacquer to show you all today. She did a quick and short release of these a bit ago, then went on vacation so they could move. Now that they are settled, her shop is back open. Today's post is really special. Taryn, the beautiful soul behind Anchor & Heart Lacquer, was trying to figure out what to do for the new year. Last year, each month had a special duo that was only available for the month. It had a great response, but she wanted to change it up this year. Every time she tried to talk about this current year's monthly special I could sense some frustration. She wasn't 100% happy with anything. I asked her if I could give her a suggestion. When I said that, I honestly had no idea what I was going to tell her, but she needed something. Maybe some back and forth banter would push her to the right idea. Then, it hit me! I mentioned maybe calling them Messages in a Bottle, and having each one named for a mantra or just something that might brighten someone's day. Lately, a lot of us need that extra bit of kind words or show of support. Hearing what we need to hear could be as easy as looking at the bottom of a bottle of nail polish. As I was telling her, my eyes were welling up with tears. When she told me it was exactly what she was looking for, she was crying. It was perfect! It was just what she needed to hear. Now that I've started crying just typing all that out, let's get to the polishes. I hope you like them as much as we do!

It's a new year, so it's time for a new box! Three beloved indie brands got together and created the Seasonal Indie Box. There will be one box for every season...so why not start off with winter? Each box will have four full sized polishes from four different brands. There are three constant brands with each box: Anchor & Heart Lacquer, Colores de Carol, and Turtle Tootsie Polishes, and then one guest brand. The guest brand for the Winter 2017 Seasonal Indie Box is Supernatural Lacquer. Well, I've kept quiet long enough. I try to hold off posting about the Anchor & Heart Lacquer Fan Favorites Duos until mid month so you all have a chance to get them as a slight mystery if swatches are a big late. She had plenty of swatches, but now it's my turn to show these beauties off. Taryn doesn't always have a theme for her duos, but this month she took inspiration from Mindy Kaling and her dedication to empowering other women. Anyone else love the movie Practical Magic? It's a movie I enjoy year round. Not a Halloween specific one for me. They've had fun in the 80's with Rainbow Brite, now they are heading into the 90's with a 90's movies themed Magic 8 Box! When they told me 90's movies was the theme for the November Magic 8 Box, I was beyond excited! If you're not familiar with the Magic 8 Box, it is a box of eight polishes that is released every other month. Four brands are a constant (Philly Loves Lacquer, Smokey Mountain Lacquers, My Indie Polish, and Rica) and then there are four guest brands every month. I really liked last month's, but I have to admit that these two were incredible. They pair so beautifully together too. I expect a lot of gorgeous manis from those of you who buy this one!!
