NOTD - My Childhood At My Fingertips
4:36 PMI couldn't wait any longer, I had to put NailVenturous Floam on my nails! The bottle was calling my name!! Only thing is that I had seen everyone who had it post about how they had issues getting it off. I decided to just use it as an accent nail. But what do you put with it that won't take away from it's glorious beauty but would just add the right amount? Something drew me to Wake Up! by essence Color & Go. I wanted to dress it up a bit and I hadn't tried any of my new Finger Paints flakes yet. I just knew Flashy would be perfect. (and it was!!) Also, I had to put something other than a base coat under Floam. Milani's Fresh Teal is perfection and practically meant to blend in with Floam.
essence Color & Go - Wake Up!, Finger Paints - Flashy, Milani - Fresh Teal and NailVenturous - Floam
Wake Up! is a bright and beautiful orange creme. I did 2 coats. It went on streaky but ended up soft and opaque. I used 2 light coats of Flashy. A clear base filled with flakes that shifts colors ranging from red - orange - yellow/gold - (and every once in a while) green. The 2 paired so nicely! I topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite. On my accent nail, I used 2 coats of Fresh Teal. A beautiful green based teal. It's supposed to be a neon, but I didn't see it. I just love the color though. It went on like a dream. It was opaque in 1 coat, but I did 2 just to be safe and try to protect my nail from all the glitter. I topped it off with 2 coats of Floam. This is a really thick polish. You can definitely see a difference in thickness between my accent nail and the others. Floam is a clear based polish that is filled with teal and yellow matte glitters. It's meant to look like the 90's Nickelodeon toy of the ou name. It's extremely close too!! I topped it with 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Seche Vite.
I did the mani last night, and so far no chips! Just a little wear on the tips of my nails where I wrapped them. I'm pleased! I really like this mani! It really takes me back to my childhood!! Floam on 1 finger and orange soda on the other! If you don't know what I'm referencing, please go watch Good Burger or All That or Kenan and Kel. So cheesy, but bring back fun memories!
Pretty flakes! The showed up best when yellow/gold. I hate I couldn't capture the other colors.
My right hand!
Have you done a mani that ended up reminding you of something when you were done, that you didn't meant to set out to do?
Happy Polishing!!
Becky :o)
