Dusty Find - China Glaze Cat's Eye

This past weekend, we were trying to figure out something to do. We decided to just go walk around the mall. My daughter spotted the play area, but my eyes caught sight of a little nail salon tucked in the back corner. I told my husband, "You take her to play and I'm going to go poke around for a minute." One bottle caught my eye, but I didn't think twice about it because I wasn't sure about the actual color of the polish. The bottle caught my eye, not the polish. I wasn't sure the polish would translate well from the bottle onto the nail. So, I decided to look it up and check out some swatches when I got home. After looking at the swatches, I knew I wanted it! Maggie and I went back yesterday, I checked the consistency of the polish, checked the fill line and asked if they were willing to sell it. Sure enough, $5 it was mine! $5 for a practically full bottle! Not fantastic formula, but nothing a little thinner couldn't fix.

What was this polish you ask?? Want a hint?

Did you figure it out?!

China Glaze - Cat's Eye!! NOW do you see why the bottle caught my eye before the color?! Don't get me wrong, the color is pretty, but I wasn't a fan of China Glaze until recently so I only know their current bottle.

Some people have told me they stopped using this printing on the bottle 5 years ago. I'm not sure about that. It could easily be true. This is also a discontinued color and I'm not sure when exactly it was discontinued. That being said, I don't know for sure how old this bottle is. If you know when they stopped using this printing and when this color was discontinued, please let me know!

Yes, it contains practically anything that we don't want in our polish now, but it needed to be tried.

This is 2 coats of Cat's Eye topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite. Cat's Eye is a golden olive shimmer based polish. It's absolutely GORGEOUS! It was a little thick, which was expected with the older polish, but it wasn't awful. No thinner needed yet. There wasn't even pulling.

This color is so pretty!

Please excuse the skin around my nails. I moisturize constantly, I don't know what my issue is.

So what do you think? Good find? I think it is! I don't care what you think! haha

Happy Polishing!!

Becky :o)

Very cool!! I always see older polishes in very cool colors, effects, and finishes...those chemicals may be bad for us but they sure do make some interesting polishes ; )

Love the color!! I think I may need to start doing dusty hauls, but I'm afraid I'll look like a moron, haha.

VERY much reminds me of Catrice "Welcome to the Jungle": http://cosmetic-fix.blogspot.com/2011/05/swatches-review-catrice-welcome-to.html

That is definitely darker, but they might have gotten inspiration from Cat's Eye for it.
