PolishCon NYC 2017 Purchases Swatch and Review

10:14 AM

**Nothing to disclose**

Keeping this intro short and sweet. I showed you all everything I got in my VIP bag from PolishCon a couple weeks ago. Now, I'm showing you all the beautiful polishes I was able to snag at the event. I was so overwhelmed, but somehow I was able to find incredible deals and narrow down my choices. So many of what I purchased is still available. Go take a peek! Enjoy!

**WARNING PICTURE HEAVY**

KBShimmer was the first table I hit up. They had an amazing special...6 polishes and a holographic make up bag for $50. No way I was passing that up! I've been wanting to try her matte top coat for forever now, and I knew this was the time to snag it!

This bag was so spacious and well made. I'm going to get a lot of use out of this. I like to keep things sorted in my purse by using make up bags for different things. This was a great addition to my little collection.

Oh Matte! is described as "a top coat with a matte finish".
I used one coat of Oh Matte! over all the polishes I purchased from KBShimmer.
Oh Matte! is by far my new favorite matte top coat. How I haven't tried it before I'll never know. This stuff is incredible. Go buy a bottle right NOW!

KBShimmer information:

When I went to the Cupcake Polish table, I went without a shopping list. I had only ever tried one other polish that was a gift. I didn't really do research and went with an open mind. Then I saw that they were 3 for $25 and I knew I was grabbing three polishes. Then, I got to the end of the table and there was a bowl with a beautiful blue polish and a sign that said "$5". My mind screamed "FOUR POLISHES FOR THIRTY DOLLARS!!!!!" I grabbed it.

Brooklyn babe
Brooklyn Babe is described as "a dusty, warm, purple-leaning, fuchsia linear holo with gold flakes and iridescent glitter".
Shown is two coats of Brooklyn Babe with top coat.
Brooklyn Babe was an event exclusive polish. I was immediately drawn to this one from the color and glitter combo. Everything about this polish made me happy. The formula, the application, the whole package.

Delishiously Jaded
Delishiously Jaded is described as "an emerald green linear holo with scattered holo microglitter and a green to blue shifting shimmer".
Shown is two coats of Delishiously Jaded with top coat.
Delishiously Jaded was only available for the month of May. I apologize for not showing this off to you all in time for you to be able to snag it for yourself. This beauty was a collaboration between Cupcake Polish and the blogger behind Delishious Nails. Those of you know that I grabbed this one strictly because of the color. IT'S GREEN YOU GUYS!!! This was a collab made in heaven. Do more together ladies!

New York is described as "a highly pigmented, rich aqua blue linear holo".
Shown is one coat of New York with top coat.
New York is a freaking one coater!! THAT was the icing on the cake. This color is in your face and applies like a dream. It may not be the $5 that I paid for it, but the fact that you can still get it is fantastic!!

The Octopus Party Nail Lacquer table was a little intimidating. It was my first time being in the presence of of these lovely polishes, but also, the gentlemen behind the table were very easy on the eyes. I felt a little conflicted. I wanted to decide on the polishes I was going to grab, but I wanted to take in their beauty too. Lucky Jen from The Jedi Wife was there and brought my attention back to the polish. She helped me decide on which polishes needed to be my first to try from OPNL, but when she tried for force a third on me...she so graciously bought it for me. (Thank you, lady!! You're a horrible influence!!)

Crepuscular is described as "a lilac linear holo with blue and red holo shimmer and added glitter".
Shown is two coats of Crepuscular with top coat.
Crepuscular was the first one I was drawn to at the table. This one was coming home with me no matter what else caught my eye. Jen told me it was a must have. That was that. It was mine. Then it I got home, and I put it on. Flawless. Perfection. If you don't have this, you need to right now. Just look at it!

Prey for Me
Prey for Me is described as "a deep raisin linear holo with soft gold shimmer".

Prey for Me sucked me in because I thought it was brown. I'm not even disappointed though. The formula on this was amazing. Absolutely blown away!

Fright Club
Fright Club is described as "a deep, almost black, green with flashes of blue".
Shown is two coats of Fright Club with top coat.
Fright Club was the gift from Jen. She knows I have a soft spot for greens. I had already decided on the above two and this was was killing me. She's an enabler and I thank her for this one, but now have a love/hate relationship with her for forcing turning me onto this brand. It's so good. It may be dark and vampy, but this is a summer polish for me. This is going to live on my toes this summer. No shame.

I wanted everything at the Pahlish table. I think I got in my own head cause I only bought one. Then I realized I spaced out and didn't get the other two I wanted. When she released them after the event I jumped on them! I was NOT missing out on them again! I've never gotten a bad polish from her. Each polish always leaves a lasting impression.

Notorious RBG
Notorious RBG is described as "a bright taffy blue jelly with teal ultrachrome flakes and turquoise shimmer".
Shown is two coats of Notorious RBG with top coat.
Notorious RBG was an event exclusive. It is bright and the perfect blue for summer. The shimmer and the flakes are the perfect addition to this one. I love how the flakes contrast with the base. You'd think they would pop in an obnoxious way, but they really do work so well together.

Yas Queen
Yas Queen is described as "a lilac cream with pink shimmer and copper flakes".
Shown is two coats of Yas Queen with top coat.
Yas Queen is another event exclusive. This one is so delicate, but the copper flakes pop in the best way possible. I'm on a copper kick right now. So, for me, there was no question on whether or not I actually needed this.

Reverie is described as "an amethyst purple jelly with assorted ultrachrome flakes".
Shown is two coats of Reverie with top coat.
Reverie is the one I snagged at the event. How could I pass up this incredible jelly/flakie combo?! UGH I fall in love with this one every time I look at it. If you like a good jelly polish, do yourself a favor and go buy it. NOW! You need it...because I said so!
$10

I went to the Colors by Llarowe table with a huge shopping list. I narrowed it down to three since this was only the third table I visited. I had to save some for the others. I randomly chose three from my list, and I have to say I am NOT disappointed in my picks. I was surprised that they all happened to be from the same general color family.

Ho, Ho, Ho, It's Santa LaRowe is described as "a sheer flakie topper with purple to turquoise shifting shimmer, and turquoise to blue flakies".
Shown is three coats of Ho, Ho, Ho, It's Santa LaRowe with top coat.
Ho, Ho, Ho, It's Santa LaRowe is supposed to be a topper, but I wanted to really show it off and decided to use it on its own. I'm not mad at it. I love how delicate it is layered with itself. You can easily see that it would make a phenomenal topper on different purples and even blues.
$8

Emerald Illusion
Emerald Illusion is described as "a vivid teal jelly base multichrome that shifts from teal to deep blue to emerald green with an emerald green shimmer".
Shown is two coats of Emerald Illusion with top coat.
Emerald Illusion was the polish of the month for May 2017. This was only offered as a pre-order. I'm sorry to those who missed out on this one. She has been doing such a great job on the POTMs, but this one jumped out at me...I'll give you all one guess as to why...YUP! GREEN! I still can't get over this polish.

Fast Eddie's Bucket List is a gorgeous polish that was released at the event. This is a charity polish, and all proceeds of this polish will go to this Crowdrise fund. A beautiful polish that helps a wonderful cause. You can't go wrong!

Colors by Llarowe information:

Bluebird Lacquer

I was so happy to walk up to the Bluebird Lacquer table. It smelled amazing from the baskets of wax she had available. The polish I kept wanting wasn't actually available and was there as a teaser. I swear she kept swatting at my hand like a mom would to a kid reaching for cookies that just came out of the oven. Luckily, it forced me to pick something else. I'm so glad it did!

I picked a Tater Tarts Wax Melt in the pineapple scent. I smelled a couple different ones, but once my nose landed on this, I knew it was the one. She has 16 different scents total...for now. So many great ones to choose from.
$1.50 (1 oz)/ $3 (3 oz)

If You Really Love Your Momma is described as "a pearl white holo with a green/purple shift".
Shown is three coats of If You Really Love Your Momma with top coat.
If You Really Love Your Momma was truly a mystery to me. When I picked it up, there wasn't a sticker on the bottom. I had no idea what it was. She found one and put it on the bottle. Somehow, by the time I got home, the sticker had fallen off again. She sent me a package to review and included the sticker in there. It was the wrong sticker. haha I'm just glad I know the name now. I'll never forget it either. This is one stellar polish! Because of the finish and how sheer it is, I think it would make a great topper too. I definitely need to try it like that.

Bluebird Lacquer information:

Go figure, I live not even an hour from Bohemian Polish, but it took a trip to NYC to get us to hang out for longer than 5 minutes. Not that we are complaining. I hitched a ride home with her and we had a blast! I love this lady and her products! If you haven't tried her stuff yet, you're missing out!

Flash Dry top coat is described as "a clear, fast drying, high shine top coat".
Flash Dry top coat is one of my 3 main go to top coats. I had just ran out so I took this opportunity to grab another bottle. I highly recommend this stuff! It's never let me down.
$6

Bohemian Polish information:

Deep down, I was going crazy when I got the chance to meet the lady behind Dollish Polish. She is everything you think her to be and hope her to be and more! She was kind, and bubbly, and even came around the table to give me a hug. I made sure I didn't leave without the main polish on my shopping list though!

The Upside Down is described as "a duochrome holo shifting from teal to indigo with holo flakes and micro glitters".
Shown is three coats of The Upside Down with top coat.
The Upside Down caught my eye the first time I saw the swatches of The Stranger Things Collection. The whole set was beautiful, but something about this one was so unique and I just had to have it.

Dollish Polish information:

The Girly Bits table was a family affair! It was lovely to see her family helping out. Can I just say how lovely they all are? They were happy and laughing and talking to everyone. I just wanted to stay and hang out with them. It was so warm and inviting. Who knew they would take my attention away from the polishes? I was shocked! But it seems Pam has found a way to bottle their personality, and that is my theory as to how each of her polishes is so incredible.

The Room Where it Happens is described as "a medium toned blue with hints of purple, a pink-green-gold multichrome shift, linear holo, and sparkling red micro glitters throughout".
Shown is two coats of The Room Where it Happens with top coat.
The Room Where it Happens had to be mine from the name alone. Anyone who knows my family knows that we are Broadway obsessed. This is named after a song in the musical Hamilton. Then, when I saw the polish, it was even more set in stone that it would be mine. This was an event LE, but it is still available. Do not miss out on this one!!

le Polish is a brand I've watched grow since they started. I've loved her polishes from the beginning, but watching her grow has been an absolute joy. Even though she started out with great products she has continued to improve. I couldn't wait to make my way to her table and give her a huge hug and snag this polish that I so desperately needed!

Non-(Polish) Conformer is described as "a taupe crelly full of color-shifting flakes".
Shown is two coats of Non-(Polish) Conformer with top coat.
Non-(Polish) Conformer had to be mine the second I saw it. I'm a lover of taupes, and this brand makes a killer polish. I knew I wouldn't be let down. Lucky for you all this one is still available. It was a part of a trio and it looks like all three are actually still available!

Different Dimension was another one of those brands I was excited to meet. She was up in front of her tables so she could meet and greet. I loved this! Her table was working like clockwork and she was having a blast mingling. I had the hardest time narrowing down what I was going to grab. Then this caught my eye...

Wish I Was a Rockefella
Wish I Was a Rockefella is described as "a brownish burgundy linear holo with added UCC flakies and holo microglitters".
Shown is two coats of Wish I Was a Rockefella with top coat.
Wish I Was a Rockefella caught my eye because of the color. I don't know why, but brown just call to me. Her polishes are always so perfect, I knew this one would be too. It still took my breath away the second I put it on.

Different Dimension information:

I knew I wanted something from Contrary Polish, but I wasn't quite sure what. As soon as I got my VIP bag and went through the cards, I saw there was a coupon for a free polish from her. I bee-lined to her booth. I thought I was going to have problems decided then a green caught my eye and practically jumped in my bag all on its own. The rest is history and I definitely need more from this brand!

Green Apple is described as "a matte minty green with fine gold shimmer".
Shown is three coats of Green Apple without top coat.
Green Apple screams my name. The color caught my eye, the shimmer kept my attention, and the fact that is was a matte finish is what really sold me on this one. It's practically a triple threat. Definitely a fantastic polish from a brand we should be hearing more about.

I will admit, I was a little scared to visit the Blush Lacquers table. Everything I had seen come from this brand was absolutely gorgeous. I knew I was going to have the hardest time deciding what to purchase. I spent a good amount of time going back and forth between a few shades...holding them under the flashlight of my phone and the lamp they had at the table. If money was no object, I have no doubts that I would have bought one of everything from her table. She knows what she is doing!

Measure of Treasure is described as "a soft pale lime green base with a delicate red micro flakie shimmer running throughout and varying sizes of holo flakies".
Shown is three coats of Measure of Treasure with top coat.
Measure of Treasure may be green, but I had a really hard time picking her out. Yes, my heart always leans green, but I was surprised at all the blue I was loving at the event. However, when I have a hard time deciding...the answer is always green. Especially when it is something completely different than what is in my collection. This is such a delicate shade of green that is elevated with the shimmer and all the holo flakes. There's not a bad thing to say about this polish! It definitely won me over with its flawless formula and application.

Blush Lacquers information:

You guys...I MET JESSFACE90!! I've always been a fan, but nothing crazy die hard. I do have a girlfriend who absolutely loves her though. She insisted I meet and talk to her. She had to find out if she was as awesome as she seems in her videos. Well, I'm here to tell you...SHE IS! I got to the Nine Zero Lacquer table and she was standing out front ready to meet and interact with people. We talked for a bit and she was as kind and down to Earth as you'd expect. Expectations met.

Treasure Chest
Treasure Chest is described as "a gold holographic microglitter with added rainbow glitter".
Shown is three coats of Treasure Chest with top coat.
Treasure Chest jumped out at me because...well...glitter! The fact that it was an LE didn't help either. This was the first polish I've tried from the brand and I was not disappointed. It was a little thick, as most glitters are, but it wasn't difficult to work with. I fell in love almost instantly. Beautiful polish, great quality, I definitely need more!

Nine Zero Lacquer information:

I originally went to the Fair Maiden Polish table to get a polish for a friend. I had seen swatches of their newest collection, but I kept telling myself I didn't NEED any of them. Well, that quickly changed when I went to talk to them. I got distracted by this beauty. I couldn't get through what I needed to ask until it was mine. The ladies were a delight and very helpful! A joy to meet them!

Seaflower is described as "a sea foam green holo with duochrome shimmer that shifts violet-red with multisized holo sparkle".
Shown is three coats of Seaflower with top coat.
Seaflower made me realize I have a violet/pink shimmer problem. I am drawn to polishes with it. There was something special about this polish though. It is ethereal...like a dream...like being wrapped in a cloud. Beautiful formula without any issues. It is still available too!

Painted Polish

Painted Polish's table welcomed me with open arms like an old friend even though it was my first time with the brand. Lexi was sweet and kind and I almost didn't want to leave. I kind of hated that I went in on a mission for one polish. I would have easily walked away with all the crellies if it were possible. She has perfected the crelly formula and has officially won me over.

Beards & Bow Ties is described as "a fun mix of fuchsia, orange, gold, and sky blue holo glitters in a white crelly base".
Shown is two coats of Beards & Bow Ties with top coat.
Beards & Bow Ties is another LE polish from the event. This one is still available though. When I saw swatches of this before the event I knew it was meant to come home with me. I knew I needed this before I knew they included a polish in the VIP bag. Yes, I know it's only two polishes, but I'm obsessed with her crellies. These are beyond perfection. The formulas are smooth and creamy and apply perfection even though there is a ton of glitter packed into the bottle. If you're a fan of white crellies...make sure you grab this before it is gone.
