Zoya Winter/Holiday 2015 MatteVelvet Swatch and Review and Day 23 of 25 Days of Polish Giveaway

11:14 PM

**Press Samples**

How in the world is it already the 23rd of December?! This is just freaking nuts! However, I'm excited for today's giveaway. It's the one I'm providing for you all. You all know I like to wait a bit longer on the Zoya swatches. You get bombarded with them all at once. When I grabbed the set of Winter/Holiday 2015 MatteVelvets for the giveaway I knew it would be for a later date in the month. Plenty of time has past, and now you all get to look at these beauties with fresh eyes, before entering for the chance to win a set for your very own!
**WARNING PICTURE HEAVY**
Aspen is described as "a sparkling arctic white with a micronized diamond pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish".
Shown is three coats of Aspen without top coat.
Aspen had my heart at the first swipe down my nail. This crisp clean white is so ethereal. Three thin coats for full opacity.
$10

Sue is described as "a soft champagne gold with a multi-hued oyster shell pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish".
Shown is three coats of Sue without top coat.
Sue is my favorite of this collection. The perfect champagne color. Three coats for full opacity or even do 1-2 coats for a clean almost natural look with a hint of shimmer.
$10

Amal is described as "a classic crimson red with a ruby red pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish".
Shown is two coats of Amal without top coat.
Amal is a thing of beauty. She is strong and in your face without being prideful. It took me two coats for full opacity as I do thin coats. It could easily be a one coater if you prefer thicker coats.
$10

Honor is described as "a true emerald green with a tone on tone emerald pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish".
Shown is two coats of Honor without top coat.
Honor made my heart sing with joy. Until it came time to take her off. Since this was just a swatch, I didn't do my full mani routine...just a basic base coat. I took this beauty off, and my nails were (and still are) stained green. Huge disappointment, but won't give up on her yet. I'll try it with my normal routine and see if that changes anything.
$10

Yves is described as "a deep sapphire that's midway in-between indigo and royal blue with a blue pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish"
Shown is two coats of Yves without top coat.
Yves is another that is breathtakingly beautiful, but stained when I took it off. Not as badly as the last one, but my nails have both blue and green tint to them.
$10

Iris is described as "a deep amethyst with fuchsia pearl fleck in the traditional MatteVelvet finish".
Shown is two coats of Iris without top coat.
Iris is mysterious. Yet, there is something completely mysterious about her. The shade is perfection. You won't be able to take your eyes off her.

While I love Zoya, and I usually adore their MatteVelvet polishes, I'm extremely disappointed in the two that stained. Their formulas were all lovely, just the staining threw me a curve ball. Luckily it was only 2, and I'm glad I didn't have them on any longer than I did. It was only a swatch so I didn't have but a simple, basic base coat on. If it was a full mani I would have had at least 4 layers of base coat. I would hope that that would help block it. I will be using SuperChic Lacquer's Bring It On! color blocking base coat along with my normal routine next time as well. Despite the two mishaps, these colors are lovely. Formulas are spot on too. When I give the others a second chance with my normal routine, I'll let you know what the outcome is. You can get the full collection of the Winter/Holiday 2015 MatteVelvets for $60 or individually for $10. In the mean time, I've got a chance for you to win a whole set of these for yourself! Keep reading to find out how!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
NOW, for the big news! How about a giveaway? How about 25 giveaways? Yes, I said 25. Let's think of it like an advent calendar of giveaways. We will have a different giveaway each day. Each giveaway will be open from 12 am EST and will run for 24 hours until 11:59 pm EST. All giveaways will be entered via Rafflecopter here on my blog. Each day the rafflecopter will be at the bottom of the daily posts (yes, I'll be posting every day...including weekends...for this giveaway). Each giveaway will have different rules. Some giveaways are international, some will require international entrants to pay shipping if they win, and some are US only. Please pay attention. All the prizes (except the one I purchased) were generously donated by each brand, and will be sent to the winners by each maker. Let's have fun! I'm hoping this is received well and can become an annual thing. If you have any questions, please email me at nakedwithoutpolish@gmail.com.
