Julep It Girl Intro Maven box review and giveaway

**WARNING PICTURE HEAVY**

Today I have a little something special for you all. The wonderful people at Julep sent me an It Girl Intro Maven box to review for you, then at the end of the review something extra special!!

I've shown you some of my Maven boxes before, and I'm sorry to say that I sometimes half-ass them because of how picture heavy the posts would end up being. I know that too many picture heavy posts can tend to be annoying. I'm going to be thorough and show you piece by piece everything that I received in this Intro Maven box.

To become a Julep Maven, you visit the site or use someone's referral link (mine is http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/24617/). You then take a quiz and get paired with one of five different Maven styles: It GirlAmerican BeautyBoho GlamBombshell and Classic With A Twist. You are then sent that Maven box every month you remain a member unless you choose to try a different style or skip a month. Every month on the 20th they send an email with a peek into your box for the next month. From the 20th to the 24th you get to decide whether you are going to keep that style, change, or skip. Also on the 20th, Julep releases a peek into all the styles on their blog. Whether you are a maven or not, you will want to follow it. They show some great nail art and reviews!

Now onto the box I received.

The outside of the box. You can't help but smile when you see one of these looking at you from inside your mail box.

The welcome note you receive when you become a Julep Maven. It tells you about the program and where you can send reviews, videos and photos of the manicures you create with your new polishes.

More information about the Julep Maven program. The perks of joining yourself and referring others to join and what you can do with those perks.

When you become a Julep Maven you get a box every month for $19.99 + FREE shipping. After your first month, you get the option to stay a member, skip a month, pick a different style or completely cancel your membership (which you probably won't want to do). If you stay a member, for every month you don't skip you get the option to add on 3 products from other Maven boxes from that month for a GREATLY discounted price. You are also given a referral link for you to give to friends. For every 2 people that join with your link and remain a member for 30 days, you will get a free month, up to 2 years. On top of all this, you automatically get 20% off all products plus FREE shipping. Can't really beat all that, can you?!

I received the "It Girl" Maven box to review. Julep describes it as "Edgy, bold and innovative, your statement-making look exemplifies modern rock 'n' roll chic. You find inspiration in bright colors and avant-garde accessories. A risk taker at heart, you believe fashion rules were made to be broken."

Once past the welcome fliers, you see the goodies waiting for you all wrapped like a present waiting to be opened. They like to include extra goodies. Sometimes it's candy, it seems like this time it was 2 little tubs of glitter!

Once inside this is what was peering back at me. Top to bottom: Delaunay, Otte and Daphne plus blue and red glitter pots.

A closer shot of the polishes. Top to bottom: Otte, Delaunay and Daphne.

As seen above, left to right. All beautiful cremes.

First up we have Daphne. Daphne is described as "smoky seafoam green creme".

This is two coats of Daphne. She goes on smooth but a little streaky. However, she dried beautifully. No clumping, no pulling, just a beautiful glossy creme with easy clean up and it didn't dye my skin or nails.

Just an absolutely beautiful color for fall or spring! So glad to have this beauty in my stash!

Second is Otte. Otte was one of the polishes from Julep's Fall 2012 Trina Turk collection. Otte is described as a "rich camel neutral creme".

This is two coats of Otte. Otte was just as smooth as Daphne and not a bit streaky. It was a little on the thick side but not difficult to work with. It was a huge contradiction, but in the end it was absolutely beautiful. Not the best shade for my skin tone though. I wanted so badly for it to work. I'm sure I can use it for some nail art down the road though.

A lovely neutral creme. Just not the best on fair/pale skin.

Lastly is Delaunay. Also from Julep's Fall 2012 Trina Turk collection, Delaunay is described as a "chili pepper red creme."

This is two coats of Delaunay. From the first stroke on my nail, I was in love! I really think I'm turning into a red fan. I just can't say it anymore because I just keep falling in love with reds. They are so surprising. Maybe it's just because they look great on fair/pale skin. Delaunay everything the perfect red should be and more! Smooth, glossy, easy to work with and sultry!

A must have for every polish collection!

You didn't think I was going to forget about the glitter did you?! Of course not! To use the glitter, I did one nail at a time to ensure the polish didn't dry before I was able to sprinkle the glitter on top. I added a third coat of Delaunay then sprinkled a little of the glitter on top. I had never worked with loose glitter before and it wasn't all that bad! I wish I could have gotten it a little more even, but I do enjoy a manicure where no two fingers looks the same.

I didn't add a top coat, but it would have just sealed the deal on this "patriotic" look.
