Easter Weekend Hauls

9:55 AM

I don't know about you all, but I found some AWESOME deals over the weekend. Had a couple shopping trips with my mom and a couple with my husband during a long overdue date night. I had to share my findings!!

The first night my mom was here, we had to do some grocery shopping so we headed for Wegmans. I'm on the hunt for 2 full Wet n Wild Bejeweled Collections. One for me and one for the lovely Jessica at Beauty Gnome. (If you don't follow her yet, you should!) I know they are very hard to find. We did our grocery shopping so I decided to cut through the cosmetic aisle on our way to check out. And there they were... 4 sparkly little ladies just sitting there. 2 bottles of The Crown is Mine and 2 bottles of Born into Privilege. I grabbed them and slightly squealed with delight! 2 is a good start when there will only be 3 left to hunt down!

Skip ahead to Easter Sunday... my daughter got her first Easter basket this year. Of course it wouldn't be complete without nail polish!!! My mom found some fun goodies at Claire's. Maggie got the Peeps scented mini set and a Nerds scented trio. She was so excited when she saw them! Haven't tested either of them yet, but we obviously can't wait! I have a feeling the next Maggie's Corner post will include one of the following...

Then comes Monday. We had planned trips to Rite Aid and Target. We went into Rite Aid to get some nuts for my parents. (BOGO @ $3.27 a can and 2 $1 off coupons equals 2 cans of almonds for under $2 which is practically unheard of.) I ended up browsing around the cosmetic aisles but nothing completely jumped out at me sale wise. I had 3 $1 off coupons for Rimmel London polishes. I haven't tried them before so I decided to try one. Then if I liked it I'd come back and use the others. $3.99 plus a $1 off coupon = $2.99 and not a bad price to try out a new (to me) brand. I picked Purple Rain (410), a stunning dark, deep, almost black purple. My husband has a love for Prince and the movie Purple Rain, so it was a no brainer. We got to the register and to my surprise, it rang up at $0.99!! With my coupon it was free, plus a penny towards the rest of our purchase. Obviously I decided to use my other 2 coupons then and there. So I ran back and grabbed English Rose (240) and Steel Grey (270). English Rose (240) is a dusty pink creme and Steel Grey (270) looks like this medium grey creme with a purple tint to it. All 3 are beautiful! The other 2 didn't ring up at $3.99, but he changed the price to match the other one and I got all 3 for nothing! We only paid tax. I love a good deal!!

Next up, Target! Who doesn't love a trip to Target?! The main fun was I had 2 coupons for $5 gift cards when I purchased 3 of the items listed on the coupon. Two of those were Olay moisturizers or cleansers and CoverGirl cosmetics. Good thing I had several coupons!! I grabbed the basic Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid and my mom got the Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths. That was 2 itmes, then I grabbed 3 CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in Snow Blossom (620), Shimmering Onyx(440) and French Vanilla (700). I needed a new concealer, so I grabbed CoverGirl's CG Smoothers Concealer in fair (705). I've never tried their concealer, but at the price it was, it was worth a shot. I had $1 off coupons for all 6 items and we got the $10 in gift cards. Not too shabby! Then, I had 2 $2 off 1 Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel Target coupons, plus, I had 2 $1 off any Revlon cosmetic item manufacturer coupons. So, I grabbed Rain Forest (220) and Midnight (290) @ $3 off each. The last item I wanted was a Rimmel London mascara. I've heard good things, but never tried one. Since I had a $1 off 1 Target coupon and a $1 off 1 manufacturer coupon, I picked up a Volume Flash ScandalEyes Mascara. Really excited to try it. I have been using CoverGirl's Lash Blast Volume Blasting Mascara for what seems to be forever. I absolutely love it, but it will be nice to compare and to try something new. Will keep you posted on that! Lastly, my mom walked past the small area of Sonia Kashuk cosmetics at Target and she started eyeing what few polishes were left. They weren't on sale, and we didn't have coupons, but my mom thought this one color was too pretty to pass up. She grabbed Fairy Princess (26). LOVE it! It's a sea foam green/blue with an iridescent sheen to it. Absolutely lovely!! I picked up some cotton squares too, but those aren't worth going into detail about! haha

Later on, my husband decided to take me out to dinner since we actually had babysitters in town (I love when my parents visit!). I had a $10 off coupon to Ruby Tuesday, so we went there. Much to my delight, there is an Ulta right across the street!! And would you believe it was purely coincidence that I had an Ulta coupon in my purse?! You're right, it wasn't, but my husband was a sport about the whole thing. So, ever since I saw this post on Polished Cousins I've been obsessing over that Sally Hansen Diamond Strength White Veil (507). I was so excited that I got the last one I saw on the shelf! I needed to spend $10 to be able to use my coupon, so I opted to try the essence Color & Go polishes. I picked up 6 of them and they are only $0.99 so I was able to stretch my money!

essence Color & Go - Glamorous Life (91), Lime Up! (39), Nude It! (70), Sally Hansen Diamond Strength - White Veil (507), essence Color & Go - Space Queen (04), Wake Up! (46) and Walk of Fame (34).

A close up of White Veil. So pretty! The red specks are actually just reflections off my red camera. lol It's all just gold and white.

After that, we went back over to Target. When I got the mail after our trips earlier, I received some great coupons from Jessica at Beauty Gnome. I had to use some of them! I had another $2 off 1 Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel Target coupon AND another $1 off any Revlon cosmetic manufacturer coupon. I had to get another! I let the husband pick this one out. He did a great job! He grabbed Fall Mood (140). A really pretty cold/copper shimmer. I had 2 $1 off any L' Oreal cosmetic (1 Target a coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon), so I let him pick out a color. He decided on Eiffel For You (370). It's a pretty grey with brown undertones (it seems). I'll know more when I get to swatch it. As we were leaving the cosmetic department the NYC display caught my eye. So did the $0.97 sign. My husband and I love all things theater related so when a color named Broadway Burgundy Frost (116) caught my eye, I had to snatch it up! From the looks of it in the bottle it looks like a red jelly base with red glitter, but frost is in the name, so that kind of confuses me. Will know more after swatching! Total spent at this trip to Target was under $2!!

Also, my mom gave me some of her Julep polishes. She was supposed to get the Boho Glam box for her first box, but they messed up and sent her Bombshell. So, instead of sending it back she just set it aside for me. Then, she got the right box for April, but one that she thought she was going to love, turned out to be more ivory than nude so she handed that one over too. So, here are the other Julep pretties that I got from my mom.

Top to bottom: Julep - SofiaAlyson and Natasha

That was all the goodies that I got over Easter weekend. I'm so please and love every color! I wish I had more fingers so I could try them all on at once, but I'm being patient. If I get the rest of my posts done, maybe I'll do some swatching tonight! :o)

Happy Polishing!!
