Rockstar Nails Summer Fling

11:34 AM

We've had a lot of red white and blue glitters lately. Today, I have an ORANGE, white and blue glitter for you! Rockstar Nails sent me this glitter packed bottle. I have to admit I was skeptical, all the shapes not usually my cup of tea, but this was done just right, it wasn't overwhelming and not too packed (even though the bottle is deceiving).

Rockstar Nails - Summer Fling

Summer Fling is a clear base filled with large white bar glitter, orange macro glitter, medium orange hex glitter, large turquoise diamond glitter, and orange and turquoise heart glitter. It looks like it is overly packed in the bottle, but it's really not. You get a good amount of glitter on the brush so there isn't a lot of dabbing or trying to place glitter in bald spots.

Left to right: 1 coat, 2 coats, 3 coats

It's hit or miss on what actually comes out on the brush, but you don't really have to fish around for anything.

This is three coats of Summer Fling.

I really ended up liking Summer Fling. The base wasn't too thick so three coats wasn't too heavy on my nails. I really enjoyed this alone with out layering with base colors. It's very rare I ever say that about a glitter. We all know how much of a pain most glitter is to take off when it's alone. There was just something so lively about Summer Fling though.

This combination of orange and turquoise just made me happy. There's no way to explain it. It's like a dress you see in a store, on a hanger, that just isn't appealing, but once you put it on it's absolutely beautiful. In the bottle, this just looks like another glitter bomb, but on the nail it is just brought to life.

Left to right: Borghese - Stellare Notte, Australis - Flip Flops, China Glaze - For Audrey, Barielle - Peach Popsicle and Color Club - Fly With Me.

As seen above from pinky to thumb.

This is one coat of Summer Fling over two coats of Borghese - Stellare Notte. Stellare Notte is a deep galaxy blue. I knew I needed to try Summer Fling over something other than a black. The shimmer in Stellare Notte was a beautiful background for Summer Fling. I really wish I could have gotten my camera to capture it.

This is one coat of Summer Fling over two coats of Australis - Flip Flops. Flip Flops is a beautiful bright blue filled with micro holo glitter. This was a beautiful combination. Flip Flops allowed Summer Fling to show itself. The turquoise glitter didn't blend into the back ground. It pops just enough.

This is one coat of Summer Fling over two coats of China Glaze - For Audrey. This was my favorite combination! The soft blue of For Audrey was such a feminine backdrop for Summer Fling. I think it just completely compliments everything about Summer Fling.

This is one coat of Summer Fling over two coats of Barielle - Peach Popsicle. Peach Popsicle is a perfect peachy creme. It's a great color to use in place of orange. A pure orange would swallow Summer Fling whole. Peach Popsicle softens it up a little. I think doing a full mani with For Audrey with Peach Popsicle as 2 accent nails and Summer Fling over all of them would be lovely!

This is one coat of Summer Fling over two coats of Color Club - Fly With Me. I really wanted to to put Summer Fling over something unconventional. Since Summer Fling is all orane, turquoise and white, what else better to pop it over than a bright spring green? This was fun, but was definitely too in your face for me.

Not a bad pairing in the bunch, but I will be sticking to pairing Summer Fling with Peach Popsicle and For Audrey. Something just makes me sit back and smile when looking at those two. Rockstar Nails really knew what they were doing when making Summer Fling. A fantastic base that isn't thick. Glitter that you don't have to fish for or try to place in specific spots. Fun, lively colors and glitter. I see nothing to complain about here! Go check out their ETSY shop! Summer Fling is available for $8.50, as well as so many other beautiful bottles of glitter!
